FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost, I dedicate myself to meeting your needs. This starts even before you become a client through regular followup. After you click "Hired" on Thumbtack you will receive a note from me...that usually has a lot of rejoicing...and we will exchange basic information. We'll also set a time to chat on the phone and get acquainted. During our call I gather the basic details about your wedding. We'll also schedule your consultation date and time. On the appointed date, we will meet either in person, via FaceTime or Skype, or as a last fall back, the phone. I spend about two hours with you, finding your story as a couple and walking you through every moment of your wedding. The process is full of laughter and joy, as you pick and choose among many various options. At the end of our time, I'll have a framework with every aspect of your service customized to your specific desires, cultures, history and requests. When we finish our session, I then take that framework and spend hours "building the structure" of your ceremony, word for word, moment by moment, with detailed cues for you as a couple. The end goal and result is a wedding service where you don't have to remember or worry about a single thing. You'll know that I have everything we discussed carefully set out and will smoothly guide you through your special moment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and thirty-three years of practical ministry experience working with families, couples, and youth. I'm currently working as a minister to families. All of this adds to a deep understanding of human nature and relationships...which is the heart of a good marriage.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure you are making accurate comparisons when deciding on an officiant. My services include the following: * I book one wedding per day. Unlike some officiants, I do not book multiple weddings on a day. This lets me focus totally on you, rather than rushing to my next service. * We'll have an in-depth consultation, lasting about two hours where we customize every aspect of your wedding. * I don't have a "book of ceremonies" that I pluck your service from. * I carefully inspect, and complete your paperwork after the wedding, then file it with the state. * It's is your wedding, not mine, or anyone else's. I'm here to help you discover what it will be. * Many couples enjoy the process so much that they stay in contact. Peek at my reviews and you'll notice that. This is one of the most important days of your life, invest in it.
