- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The following are a few informative questions you should ask any DJ company before you make your final decision: Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability? Do you provide a written contract? Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time? Do you use Professional Equipment? Do you provide backup equipment at my event? Although equipment failure is rare, do you really want your special occasion ruined because your Disc Jockey did not come prepared? It is also important to know if your Disc Jockey has a back-up plan in case of illness or an accident. Members of the A.D.J.A. have many resources available to them in case of an emergency. Does the Disc Jockey know the proper etiquette for your type of party? How much time do you allow for set-up? Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion? Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group? Afterburn Productions is proud to have met and surpassed the qualifications for membership in the American Disc Jockey Association. * Use only professional equipment suitable for the affair. * Be fully insured as per state & local regulations. * Provide a written agreement detailing your affair. * Provide references from previous customers upon request. * Be suitably dressed for the occasion. * Be willing to discuss music selections ahead of time and be willing to play requests (if found suitable for the affair). * Know the proper procedure and etiquette for the type of function. * Arrive on time. Punctuality is a necessity. * Be courteous, polite and respectful to clients, their guests and all those involved with a related affair. * Carry backup equipment. Your party will NEVER have to end early due to equipment failure. * Supply a replacement disc jockey in case of an emergency.
