Vicki is a fantastic sports nutritionist. I race cars professionally and struggled to find high quality foods whilst maintaining my busy travel schedule. After just a few appointments my entire body was thanking me and I would recommend her to 10/10 people. There is no better feeling than a happy digestive tract and you will not regret the time spent with her.

New Year, New Me! That's what I said last year. One of my goals was to improve my diet and nutrition. My fitness goals were on track but I felt the nutrition side of the equation was lacking. Plus, I was trying to reduce my meat intake and try a vegan/vegetarian diet. I talked to a few friends but couldn't find something that worked for me. I struggled through most of the year failing miserably at my nutrition goals. Things changed midway through the year. I meet Julianne at a meetup and we got to talking about endurance sports and nutrition needs. Julianne is a plant-based triathlete. I was impressed at her accomplishments and decided to book a session with her. She was patient as I asked a million questions. She helped me understand how I could improve my diet, and gave me simple ways so I could track success. I attended a few of her wellness retreats where she taught us more about plant-based nutrition and served us some delicious food. It was really exciting as I learned that my diet didn't have to be just tofu and water. Phew! Julianne helped me understand exactly what I needed to eat to feel stronger and perform better. I feel so much healthier and energized knowing what to eat. Having the right guidance has fast tracked this. I highly recommend her!

I had the pleasure of having Diana as my preceptor during the clinical rotation portion of my dietetic internship program from October 2015 to February 2016. Throughout our time together, she showed me how to help patients by listening, thinking critically, and helping them come up with the best individualized plan for long term health. Diana is empathetic, patient, and motivating. All of her patients truly looked forward to the time they got to spend working with her on their nutritional goals. In addition to being the best teacher, Diana even motivated me to get back to the gym! We spent our lunch breaks working out together which helped me to drop the 5 lbs I gained from my intense internship program! This past July I passed the national exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and I attribute much of my success to the time I spent observing and working with Diana. I will try to emulate her same style of teaching throughout my future career! If you want the best start to your own fitness and health journey, I encourage you to book an appointment with Diana Urcuyo of Fit and Healthy Nutrition!

Let me tell my story. I was looking for place where I can challenge my body and relax my brain. From the bagging I felt that this place is THE PLACE. 7 am bootcamp is really hard for non-morning person. After first 2 weeks, I started feeling more energy during the day. So mornings are not that bad. Next big thing for was a Tough Mudder run. Lori believed in me and helped to prepare. I finished it. 14 miles up/down Tahoe Northstar Ski resort, 20+ obstacles, 1 ice bath(google Arctic Enema), 2 electroshock etc. Next month I was playing volleyball and completely torn my ACL. With Lori's help I successfully went thru rehab. She is amazing educated coach. Lori knows everything about human body and muscles, diets and nutritions etc. My nutritionist told my exactly the same as Lori did a couple months earlier. After 1 year I lost about 30 pounds and 4 sizes :) So if you are willing to work hard and achieve a results this is a right place.

I particularly enjoyed my interaction with Tara, the Nutritionist. I felt she took the time to listen to my stubborn ideals and worked through some issues with me. I can tell they are still in the start-up phase, so some things need to be sorted out. But the team there is well put together, the training sessions were difficult but well paced and I felt energized. Good find.

Ruben is not one of those 18 year olds that they hire in the gyms, that have NOT had 20 + years of hamburgers and fries around their middle. He is a knowledgeable and certified trainer and nutritionist, who not only diagnoses your body type and nutritional needs, but knows the psychology of healthy weight loss and fitness. He gets results where others took me on a yoyo experience and he is very affordable. Very highly recommended

When I first began working with Christine Rosche, MPH,CNS,CBT, Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Biofeedback Therapist 2 month ago in May of 2016 I was dealing with chronic constipation/digestive issues, sleep and focus/memory issues, significant anxiety, pain in my right side and inflammation issues. I had tried many approaches with no lasting results. Christine's extensive background in evidence based functional nutrition and skills to identify the core/root issues of my long standing constipation resulted in a complete resolve of my digestive issues in just 4 short weeks. I learned how the foods I was eating contributed to inflammation and digestive issues. I received a customized diet that works for my unique body chemistry and lifestyle needs. I love what I am eating, am not on a diet and am continuing to experience great results each week. The Biofeedback Therapy and Stress Management Counseling has produced dramatic results in just 8 weeks Job Performance and Communication at work is improved significantly. Before I was out of control, now I am in control and improving every day in my personal and professional life My anxiety and sleep issues have resolved and I have great job and family success! Christine's approach is integrative and combines the best of all modalities in a thorough, evidence based approach. She is like a detective, getting to the core issues very quickly and helping me resolve them permanently, without dieting or deprivation I recommend her multi faceted, evidence based cutting edge approach to anyone who is ready to make lasting changes in their health and lifestyle and is ready for permanent results

Sandy changed my life physically and emotionally. She is a most knowledgable nutritionist I ever seen but she is not only a nutritionist; Sandy makes you think that she is your best friend. She helped me to reduce my weight and stress at the same time. From the eyes of me as a person with PCOS, she is a magician. It is extremely hard to lose weight with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) but with a help and skills of Sandy, I DID IT! and still losing pounds everyday. Her theoretical and practical understanding of nutritional related subjects acted as a miracle for me. Thanks Sandy for giving me back my life.

I feel absolutely wonderful now that I am "eating healthy" and staying away from all the foods that have been sabotaging my quest to loose weight and feel better. I love Lorie's conference calls, her encouragement and her expertise in the nutrition arena. It all just makes sense. I am looking forward to becoming the person I am meant to be in all aspects now that I am on this journey to a "healthier lifestyle". I highly recommend Lorie Gehrke at Mariposa Living. She is an excellent nutritionist as well as just a great, fun, positive, inspiring person to be around. Thanks, Joanna.

Susan Celli met and exceeded my expectations as a nutritionist. Ms. Celli was hired to perform a series of nutritional analyses on my company's products. Not only did she provide the agreed upon data, she went above and beyond and generated nutritional labels as well. Thank you, Susan Celli! You are competent and a pleasure to work with.

    About

What I offer clients is the balance of science and flavor and a deep and comprehensive understanding of what makes the body healthy and what makes food taste great! I have always been a science geek: my primary degree is in the biochemistry of nutrition: how vitamins and minerals, enzymes and all the basic components of foods integrate in and with our body to sustain life. With my secondary degree in culinary sciences, I studied food chemistry, biochemistry and culinary methods- how foods work together in recipes, how to create and be creative in the kitchen. This fusion of interests is something I am proud of and excited to share with others as they strive to live a healthier life

    About

With a masters degree in nutritional sciences and as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), my desire is to provide businesses with support in nutrition analysis of recipes and to generate blog posts on relevant nutrition topics.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
