Introduction: I am a fully trained classical pianist graduating from the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia. I was Juilliard accepted. At age 12 I won the Australia Music Exams Board highest award achieving the highest honours pass in the the country in my piano exam. I went on to win many first prizes in the Sydney Eisteddfod piano competitions. I have been teaching in Los Angeles for 18 years with great success. Clients include many from Hollywood Television and Film backgrounds such as Mad Men, Orange is the New Black, Hotel Transylvania, Entourage, and KingWorld. Being concert trained creates a great incentive to all my students, and inspires many to learn and achieve. I teach most styles .... particularly classical and also popular. First class is double in length at no extra charge. I am passionate about my work, and make lessons completely enjoyable.

I have THE most incredible piano teacher!! He has been playing for 50 + years and trained at the Conservatory in Sydney. His playing is remarkably accomplished and he has a passion to match. It is the highlight of my week when he comes to my house for my lesson. He is incredibly patient, instructive, and his enthusiasm is contagious!!! He comes to our house for lessons, is always punctual,and the time flies once we start a lesson. I’m always sad when our lessons end. As an older, “ late to the party”, adult student he makes me feel good about myself and my playing to the point where I look forward to practicing and then playing my best for him. Instructive without being intimidating, he has added a breath of fresh air to my life. He also instructs my wife, a daughter, and my 9 yr. old granddaughter. An wonderful man, as well as instructor, he will change your life and your love for music!!!! He’s definitely changed mine!!!

I love my piano teacher, John. As an adult who has never played an instrument I was a bit apprehensive but it’s been a great experience. John is patient and has a great sense of humor and makes each lesson a positive experience. He plays so beautifully it is truly inspiring! I highly recommend him.

John is an excellent piano teacher! I’ve recently resumed piano lessons since my retirement and couldn’t be happier. John brings his extensive knowledge to each lesson, explaining music theory and teaching each piece with his infectious enthusiasm. I’m playing better than ever. John is a fantastic piano teacher that has sparked my interest in classical music. He is very accomplished and comes with many accolades. When I come to him with new pieces, he is able to pick it up and perform them immediately which makes the task seem less daunting. Even though we take our lessons seriously, he makes it enjoyable by keeping a light and friendly attitude. I have learned a lot at a great pace and am looking forward to more lessons.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My peak periods are late afternoon and evenings. I can offer package rates for daytime students prior to 4pm.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I teach quite thoroughly so the student can learn to read quickly. I always play a vast array of music for students to see what styles they like, and give them a choice in choosing what they would like to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia
