Pet Sitting

After having an awesome pet sitter for 8+ years who recently retired, we found ourselves looking for someone new. We dreaded looking for a replacement and felt certain no one could replace our prior sitter. I scoured many review sites and read hundreds of reviews and chose a handful of sitters to contact, ultimately choosing and meeting three. They were all good, but Brea with Bat Country stood out. In addition to her outstanding qualifications and awesome website, when we met I got a great feeling and felt at ease immediately when she got on the floor and connected with our two dogs. Brea is professional and truly cares about your critters. We used her for a vacation a few weeks ago, having her come to the house 2x per day. She sent detailed texts and pics on EVERY visit! One of our dogs requires eye treatment. When we arrived back home, her eyes looked better than they had in months due to Brea’s suggestion of a different manner of applying the medication. We are going to use her services again in a week, leaving our dogs in her care feeling confident they are in great hands. I could not recommend Brea enough. She exceeded our expectations and we feel fortunate we found her!

There could never be anybody better than Brea to sit for your pet. I have 4 elderly dogs and one sick one. They all require special diets, and maintenance meds as well as the sick ones needs extra special care, sometimes in the middle of the night. Brea just goes with the flow and is an Above and Beyond sitter and all around human. We love her, the babies love her and you can be sure you are in the best most capable loving hands when you hire Brea.

Briana and Ryan are professionals. Not only that, they are also friends. From the moment my wife and I met them they were courteous, prompt, and always followed through. They are also ardent animal lovers and do whatever is necessary to take care of your pets. After a horrible experience boarding our cat, Edgar, we found BatCo Pet Sitting and are relieved every time my wife and I go out of town knowing they are there to take care of our furry family member. Thank you guys so much for everything you do. Could not recommend you more highly!

We first met the owners Briana and Ryan at the Pet Expo and kept their card on file. A year later when wanting to find in home pet sitting due to the health of our oldest dog Shadow, we called Bat Country Pet Sitting. After the preliminary interview, we booked a mini vacation. We couldn't have been more happy not only with the care Briana gave to our pups but, that she was also able to administer the all so important Vitality Science products to Shadow that have greatly improved her health. This was also a product they introduced to us. It saved Shadow's life....literally. Our pups were so happy and well adapted to her stay. We call Briana "the whisperer"....she was able to gain the trust of our pups and interact with them in ways no one has been able to do. They also operate with a very professional business model that we were very comfortable with. We will be using Bat Country Pet Sitting from now on!

We've been clients of Bat Country Pet Sitting for quite awhile now, over the last few years. Both Briana and Ryan are reliable and professional, and we wouldn't trust our pets' care to anyone else while we are away! We have two senior cats that require special care, including subcutaneous fluids and medication administration. We've needed to call upon Bat Country Pet Sitting in emergency scenarios, and they have been there not only to take care of our pets, but also provide peace of mind that your home will be looked after as well. They are highly recommended and are our 'go-to' for all our pet sitting needs.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

While I do have some standard prices for a few of our services, I normally create a custom quote for my clients, because I provide care for so many varieties of animals with basic to advanced needs, in so many different kinds of homes and locations. Please contact BatCo for a quote on services.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Learning about your pets and their needs helps me to create an accurate and affordable quote and to document the care they need. First, we will have an intake call, allowing me to gather crucial info about your home, pets, and service needs. I will then send your quote and other info via email afterwards, based on our call. Then, we will schedule a free, 30-45 minute home visit, during which time I'll visit to meet you and your pets, get a tour from you around the home and property, go over important paperwork, get keys/entry codes to your home, and take care of payment for your first services (new clients pay for the first dates of service up front). I will verify your emergency contacts, establish what your communication preferences are during your time away (text or email), verify your emergency vet information and emergency treatment protocols, and ensure that we understand your pet's feeding and any medical treatment completely. I might use my mobile phone to take pictures of feed/water bowl placement (in a house with multiple pets), and other aspects of your animals' living and/or medical areas, so I can make sure to keep everything consistent for them (pictures help me to recall important details). Learning as much as possible about your pets is crucial, especially with senior or special needs pets. I want to provide the best care possible for your beloved critters. Thank you in advance for working with me to ensure that I have all I need to watch over you pets and home!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Formal Vet Tech Education Argosy University, Twin Cities MN Selection of classes taken: Small Animal Medicine, Veterinary Diseases, Veterinary Lab Procedures, Animal Behavior, Clinical Veterinary Training, Comparative Anatomy, Emergency & Critical Care, Parasitology, Microbiology, Veterinary Pharmacology.
