Very Informative about training my puppy and how to stop him from bad behavior. He also help us with our 6yr dog. From runming out the door when we get home or leave. Overall it was a great experiences on how to train our dog.
The progress I've seen within a few sessions is absolutely amazing. Peter has shown me how to communicate with my 6 year old boxer in ways I never thought possible. I learned more about her body language and behavior in 30 minutes than I had in the previous 6 years owning her! Peter works to improve the relationship between dog and owner, not just training the dog to take commands. It's about building trust and respect. Totally worth the money and effort. If you're looking to create a positive relationship with your pet, Better Manners is most definitely the one to call.
Teresa is such an awesome trainer to work with. She has a deep understanding of how to help you understand your dog so you can be successful at training your dog. She's very professional. I appreciate that she only uses positive tactics and is so patient! I highly recommend her and will continue to learn as much as I can from her.
We love Kay and are so happy to have her working with us on puppy training. She is full of helpful ideas and has been instrumental in teaching each of us (3 teenagers included) how to best train and get the results we are looking for. Each session she brings new information and tools to train with and our puppy just loves her. We are so grateful to have her with us on this journey!
Having been a dog walker and sitter myself in San Francisco for 12 years, I am very particular about who I let deal with my dog. I met Jane at the Stapleton Dog Park where Maxine and I started going after we moved to Denver. I am currently unemployed but mainly needed a place for Maxine to go when I traveled and could not include her in the trip. But Maxine had GI issues every time I left her with either friends or sitters I found online. So I decided to ask Jane if she would walk Maxine a couple days a week so she could bond with another human and hopefully not get so stressed out when I had to leave her. Jane went above and beyond that and suggested she would take her home for the whole afternoon after the play group so she would get used to her house and further bond with her. Well I continued the plan for a few months and when I went away for two weeks Maxine must have had the time of her life. She was very happy when I picked her up and did not have any issues with diarrhea and GI upset. This was such a relief because before she would be sick for at least three or four weeks after I got back with stress colitis. So I continue to have Jane pick her up twice a week ongoing as Maxine gets so excited when she comes to get her and always returns tired and happy. I would (and have) recommended Jane to friends and anyone who wants to have their dog loved and exercised by a professional.
Rogue Foothill Dog Training continues to provide an incredibly positive experience for both myself and my dog. Allison is punctual, professional and proficient. In addition to working effectively with my dog, she has been patient and readily available to advise me on various scenarios outside of training sessions. It is obvious that training dogs is a passion of Allison's. She is dedicated to teaching skills and strategies to both myself and my dog, in an effort to create a happy, healthy relationship. Allison's facilities are of high quality and we feel confident using RFDT services and recommending them to other dog lovers. 5 stars for Rogue Foothill Dog Training and 5 stars for Allison.
My 10 month old puppy was attacked while we were out on a walk in March 2017. At the time, I was waiting until he turned 1 year old to start training with an organization so he could one day be my Service Dog. Due to the attack and the mental damage it caused, the organization was no longer a good choice, so a friend recommended Rocky Mountain Canine Academy. I attended a class in May 2017 and it was exactly what I was looking for. Since June 2017 we have been training once a week, almost every week, but due to scheduling and my puppy’s mental state, we started with one-on-one training where the trainer and I would meet at different locations to get my puppy used to being in different “work” environments (for example: stores, skate parks, gyms, etc). The trainer is affordable, personable, flexible, and really knows how to work with dogs with different behavioral issues and their owners. As his owner, I needed retraining after the attack and the trainer has been incredibly patient with me. The trainer bases and tweaks the training towards what you want to work on. For example, after working one-on-one for a few months, I felt that we would benefit from a group class as both my puppy and I was still very skittish around other dogs. I definitely recommend Rocky Mountain Canine Academy to everyone. My puppy is now 2 years old and is doing great! I have received so many compliments of my dog’s progress and I could not have done it without Rocky Mountain Canine Academy! Both my dog and I have come a long way and I intend to continue training with them for the foreseeable future.
Matt did an incredible job training our dog Lucy. I worked every week with her and trained her at her pace instead of trying to rush her. I really appreciated his care and understanding of our dogs feelings. He was very flexible with the classes which was great for our schedules. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking to obedience train their dog.
My Aussie is a happy, healthy eight year old, but he was always really difficult to take for a walk. He just didn't respond to the leash, no matter the collar or the trainer, and I'd tried several of each. I would come home from what should have been a pleasant walk in tears. Then I found Rick. Now long walks with Rolly are a blessing for us both, and his obedience training has made living with my active guy much easier and more fun. I am sooooo grateful. I've also watched Rick with other dogs. He is a master of his craft. Big, little, tough or timid, he knows how to help them and how to help you, so your bond and time together become more fun and rewarding.
