Hired Alan’s Painting to remove popcorn ceiling end of February 2022. Javier and Eric worked so hard removing popcorn ceiling. My house is 2 stories and a newly remodeled stair case right in the middle of both rooms. My stair case was completely covered with blankets and plastic so no damage incurred. Living Room, Family room and master bedroom all completed. Removal of popcorn, mudding corrections, sanding, knockdown texture, primer and white ceiling paint. Beautiful. I had the popcorn ceilings removed which is a very messy/dusty job. And there is a difficult spot with vaulted ceilings over stairs. LFR covered my wood floors and draped the walls with plastic to cover things, at the end of the days swept & vacuumed up as much as possible. The smooth ceilings look so good, highly recommend.

Luis and his team were brought on to remove some popcorn finish from the vaulted ceilings in our home and they knocked it out of the park! Sammy did a great job on fixing our ceilings after we had our asbestos popcorn removed. He also did a great job painting ceilings and bedroom. The ceilings were in pretty rough shape and he took the time to do extra sanding and nailing to make sure it was secure and smooth. Flat costs a little bit extra but he did a phenomenal job and we are so happy with the results. He takes pride in his work and sees through on the details. It’s a family business and we were so happy with their efforts. We couldn’t be there the whole time and they were trustworthy to be there without supervision. Luis and his team were fantastic to work with on removing our popcorn ceiling. Communication: Very responsive over text and it was incredibly easy to coordinate start time, location, consultation, end time and payment. Timeliness: Very punctual team, showed up right at our scheduled time and got the work done quicker than estimated. Quality: Exceptional quality - Luis took the time to recommend different finishes for our ceiling as he got to know our apartment. When a few areas dried leaving some irregularities, Luis came back the very next day for touch ups, and spent 3 hours at the apartment to make sure the ceiling dried correctly. Sammy is a true professional. We had the most difficult project for him: removal of popcorn on vaulted ceilings, a hallway, and bedroom. We learned along the way that it was really poorly done and much thicker than typical, (assuming to cover up some really bad ceiling work). He found a ton of imperfections, holes, sloping, and other issues that he took care of for us at no extra charge, and really did it right. You can bet on him and his team to ensure best quality work, in a timely manner, at a very reasonable cost. He was prompt, communicative, polite and cleaned up well after such a messy job. I was deeply appreciative and very impressed with his work quality and ethic. Our ceilings now look better than every other wall in this home!

We hired Luis and team for popcorn ceiling removal and overall the ceilings themselves came out well. The texture and finish on the ceilings look good, which is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of lower. Luis and his team were pleasant to work with and handled things professionally, especially considering our cats turned their plastic containment coverings into a nightly playground. Their pricing was fair compared to other quotes we received. Luis was also very helpful when my husband asked if he could patch and texture part of a wall while he was already onsite. He was happy to help and matched the texture nicely. One thing worth noting is that Luis chose not to create a formal contract due to the smaller scope/cost of the project. While I understood that at the time, it did create some confusion later on regarding expectations and items that were not included, such as paint costs. Unfortunately, there were also several quality/detail issues throughout the project. One noticeable area that was missed entirely was the edge between the attic door and the wall. This area was textured and painted, so it appeared to be a decision not to complete it rather than an oversight during cleanup. The biggest issue was with the painting and edging work. Every room had multiple spots where paint got onto the walls, and the most frustrating part was the lack of clean lines along our grasscloth wallpaper. We also found paint drips on the floor (which thankfully cleaned up easily), on our dining room table (which has been much harder to remove), and on our subwoofers/speakers. The ceiling work itself was solid, but the prep, protection, and finishing details left a little to be desired.
