"Masters Memories was everything we hoped for and more! They were great from beginning to end. Wade was very professional, friendly, helpful, courteous, and patient with our members. Everyone had so much fun at the photo booth and were pleased to have fun photos to take home with them. I loved the way the photos scrolled on a screen during our event so we could see everyone else's photos. This photo booth really put the fun in our activity. Thanks, Wade, for all your efforts. "

"Everyone had so much fun with the photo booth! I love how they printed copies for everyone who went in the photo booth rather than just two prints. They were really fast about getting the online photo gallery up for our guests. I would highly reccomend them for your next event!"

"There are truly no words to describe my love and appreciation for both Turi and Hipster Mama Productions. Working as an Director of Events in the Media world I have used a couple of bands at both smaller and larger expos. Her professionalism, her passion and her love for her clients is one I will never never take for granted. I love her so much, she is the band at my sisters wedding coming up in Summer of 2016. If I could recommend any of her bands, I would say you wont be disappointed. They are truly the best! "

"Excellent value with the family photos, wedding photos and photo booth. I particularly liked getting all my photos on a disc so I could send them and print them as needed. The photo booth was a big hit and a great addition. "

"Mountain event services is the bees knees. After video chatting with them before the wedding we knew we made the right choice. We wanted our wedding to have a 50's vibe. We weren't able to pick enough music and Matt our dj did an amazing job picking out more music to make our day special. My mother and my sister added some activities along the way and he was able to change things up so everything ran smoothly. He even had extra equipment ready when we had to switch things up at the ceremony. He was professional and not over bearing/cheesy (which what I was most scared of) his wife Cassidy was our photo booth attendant. She was adorable. She never once got overwhelmed and she smiled and joked about everyone's pictures with them. The props they brought were perfect and they even had left over supplies for a scrap book for us. I'm so happy about that because I love it and I love there picture they put in there too. Now I'll never forget who helped us achieve the perfect wedding for us. Thank you Matt and Cassidy."

"The photo booth for our After Prom event was great. The students were happy. The attendant was on time and very personable with our students. The only draw back was the images were not printed. Only available on a cell phone or social media page. Very good value since we were on a tight budget."

"Angie was great! She was very communicative from the beginning, and I understand exactly what services I would be receiving. The night of the party she showed up on time and was very professional and courteous to all of my guests. It was a nice selection of props and the template she designed for the slides, was very cute. Everyone had a blast, and really having a photo booth made the evening. Angie's package deal provided the same as other companies I had looked at, but for less cost. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Angie again for another occasion."

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.

How do you make a wedding photo booth backdrop?

Creative or DIY-savvy couples can make a wedding photo booth backdrop in no time. You can ask your rental company to incorporate a custom backdrop into your rental party photo booth, or do your own custom photo booth with a friend serving as photographer. It’s easiest to make your own backdrop for an open air photo booth, which you can hang on a wall at an indoor reception, or hang from a tree or in a homemade frame at an outdoor reception.

One simple yet glamorous option is a tinsel curtain. Choose silver or gold for classic elegance, or go for a wild color like bright pink. For a more refined look, you can purchase three or four yards of a luxe fabric that fits your wedding color theme. Creative couples may want to get funky and spray-paint or hand-paint designs onto a cotton canvas backdrop. Don’t forget to provide props for your guests; the props are half the fun and encourage guests to get playful for the camera. Paint an oversized picture frame gold (don’t forget to take out the glass!) for your guests to hold up. Provide a chalkboard where they can write cute messages to hold in their photo, and colorful items from your costume box: think hats, wigs, funky sunglasses, and sequined accessories.
