I am a Fellow of the Trinity College of Music,London, and winner of the Lady Palamkote scholarship and gold medal. I studied with the great pianist Olga Craen, herself a student of the immortal Alfred Cortot. I am a dedicated piano teacher with decades of experience and specialize in teaching adults. My teaching philosophy is that every student is unique and I choose music for each student according to their needs and tastes. Before putting a student on a new piece, I play a few appropriate pieces for them and ask them which one they would like to learn. I teach all styles from Baroque and Classical to Romantic and Modern and even semi-classical music and popular songs. I provide my students with music and study materials Free of Cost in a three ring binder. My fee is affordable and reasonable. I am available for piano lessons all seven days of the week between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and am flexible about scheduling. I have a passion for the piano and love bringing it into the lives of adults.

In July, I purchased a digital piano and was referred to Dr. Heger for piano lessons. I hadn't played the piano in over 50 years! It was absolutely the very best fit for me. With Dr. Heger's assistance, each time I feel more comfortable at the keys! She is the most delightful, marvelous, intuitive, kind person, and an incredible pianist in her own right. She was able to 'meet me' exactly where I was with respect to my abilities, and encourages me every time to 'trust myself'. Each time I go I feel more self-confidence and I feel cared for as I go through this re-learning process. With her encouragement, her humor, and talent I feel like playing will be part of the rest of my life! Thank you for giving me back the music! I would highly recommend her to any level of student, from total beginner to someone returning to the piano after years.

I started piano lessons with Dr. Heger two weeks ago as an adult beginner with no prior musical experience, and I've already learned how to read notes and play some basic songs. She is a really great teacher! Before I started lessons, the thought of being able to play piano seemed overwhelming and impossible, but Dr. Heger does such a good job of taking you through it step by step. I'm making progress way faster than I expected and look forward to continuing lessons. Dr. Heger is also very responsive with communicating and flexible with scheduling lessons, and her rate is a really good deal. I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to play the piano.

Not complicated. Just a sliding scale for economically challenged but dedicated students.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I introduce myself to a new student by playing the piano for them - Scarlatti, Chopin , Mozart , Beethoven... to show them the infinite variety of music that can be played on the piano, and the magic of the piano ;-)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Of course. I also continue to give private concerts and also lay for my students at their lessons. As Emerson said: "No one is fit to teach unless they learn something new every day." I als become a better teacher with experience all the time.
