Dan was professional. His installation of faucet and fix to clogged drain was well done. He also helped with repairs to my sprinkler system, fixing leaks, replacing sprinkler heads, testing pressure in the system. His price was fair. I recommend Dan and would hire him again!

Dave and Junior did a good job removing our old appliances. They did the installation in a reasonable amount of time. They were flexible and able to solve the instal and connection problems. My only suggestion is that they be more careful of woodwork. Three of the screws into the wood cabinets around the oven, split the wood because they didn't pre-drill the holes with a small drill bit. Other than that, they were very helpful and very pleasant to work with.

Mike was very responsive and called me within minutes after I entered my information at Thumbtack.com. He quoted me a price that was over $200 less than a big plumbing company. I hired Mike and he was very helpful and focused on my issue. He was on time and did the repair within 45 minutes. I am very satisfied with the work that Mike did for me and I would highly recommend him for any plumbing meet.

I found Johnathon here on Thumbtack and hired him to remove an old sink and faucet and install a new one in my kitchen. He was fast at messaging, stayed true to the promised rate, and confirmed the appointment the day of. He doesn't up charge any parts, he even showed me the Home Depot receipts. I would hire him again and already sent his contact info to a friend of mine in need of a plumber.

Jerry did a great job. Home Depots installer said it couldn't be done due to distance from the sink and angling around cabinets. Jerry had no issues and completed the install in less than an hour. I would use him again for any appliance install.

I hired Gonzales Construction to sheetrock the ceiling in my bathroom. It was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with a construction company. Daniel was quick to respond with an estimate of how much the work would cost he immediately sent out two of his people to demo and install new sheetrock what's that got done an excellent time and his employees were very respectful and took pride in the work that they did the next morning he sent out to more of his employees to Mud tape and texture the ceiling and they did a great job and they got it done in great time and they were also very respectful and took pride in the work that they did and my bathroom now looks extremely beautiful. I definitely would recommend them to anybody who is looking to have quality work done to their homes I know they will be just as pleased as I was. To me Gonzalez Construction is one of the best companies that I have ever done business with and I would not have any problem using their services again I would love to thank them for the great work that they did

I contacted Marc to install a new bathroom exhaust fan. He was able to do it within a day. The fan I purchased was too large, but he offered to make the adjustments and added on a small additional charge. His work was quite neat and he finished in a timely manner. He left the area very clean, and his price was very fair. I had contacted two other contractors who would have charged double the price. I would definitely recommend him.

Bob did a fantastic job patching up my old hot water heater and then installing the new one when it arrived. He was VERY knowledgeable and reasonably priced, his costs were almost half the price of the other quotes I received. He was very good at explaining every step along the way and was extremely personable and friendly. I highly recommend Bob, if you need a plumbing/heating/cooling guy... Bob is your man!

I would highly recommend AAG Appliance Repair! Adam came out to our house to repair our refrigerator and he came out within 24 hours and fixed our issue right away. He doesn't try to upsell and offered us very sound advice; we felt he was very fair and competitive with what he charged us. We definitely appreciate that when so many others try to sell you things you don't need. Adam is extremely professional and we will always use his services for any appliance repair we have in the future. Thanks again!

Trent is a straight shooter motivated by integrity. I had requested drywall repair for a 1.5' x 1.5' hole in the wall. When he gave me his estimate he thought it was for a 1.5"x1.5" hole. The job took a little over two hours instead of the quoted one, but Trent refused to let me pay him for the extra time or the materials he had to purchase because of the larger hole. He was extremely professional asking permission to use my sinks and let me know that his saw was going to be loud. He also cleaned up after himself and the work is top notch. I will look to hire Trent again for my future projects.

Kristian did a great job replacing damaged baseboard trim, making sure to match with our existing trim. He also fixed our leaky door jams, closing gaps, caulking and repairing the weather stripping. Kristian was very knowledgeable and helpful, I definitely recommend him for anyone who needs repairs done.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
