Alex is the best tutor I have ever had. He throughly explained material and helped me to understand better. Would recommended to anyone who is looking for a tutor.
Françoise is tutoring me in French. She is excellent!
Our tutor, Nicole, responded very quickly to all my communications. We had an appointment in the same week. She came to our house. My daughter felt that her 2 1/2 hours (was supposed to be 2, but Nicole wanted to cover everything and answer all questions. We only had to pay for 2) was extremely helpful. She learned so many tips on how to improve her SAT score which really helped to lessen her stress level. Nicole was so thorough, knowledgeable, and experienced. My daughter is looking forward to working with Nicole for the next few weeks. We highly recommend her!
I found Arbor here on thumbtack and received other quotes from other tutors. Arbor got back to me very quickly and ended up being the best choice. I'm very happy I went with them.
We met and subsequently hired Saili to tutor our gifted and talented son. She is impressive and we look forward to working with her.
Minnie was very responsive and helped us get the best tutor within the time constraints we presented to her. We are very happy with the service Peak Performance provided for SAT prep.
So happy with Arbor Tutors who helped me focus on my SAT II preparation. Very efficient with excellent results.
Maria is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had! When I first met Maria, I told her what my requirements were & she customizes the class just for you. She makes learning so much fun. I'm always looking forward to every single class. Maria is kind, patient, and takes such a personal interest in your development, understands your ability to learn & pushes you in such a positive fashion. I truly admire her as a person. Choosing Maria to be my Spanish teacher was one of the best decisions I made and I highly recommend trying her class.
Sina is highly professional, yet engaging with his students. He takes the time to carefully explain how to solve a problem. I would recommend Sina as a math tutor for all ages... young to old.
Marc is an amazing tutor. I hired Marc to tutor my learning disabled daughter to prepare for an entrance exam at a local technical college in Denver. My daughter struggles both socially and academically. Marc was able to bridge both gaps for a very successful experience. Marc was always punctual and reliable and has the creativity and flexibility to work well in a very challenging situation. I give Marc two thumbs up and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent tutorial experience.

I appreciate Ann as an online tutor. Ann is a certified Reading Interventionist with a big heart for helping kids succeed in the area of reading. I met Ann through a group I created called The Ultimate Support Group for Online Tutors. She is always willing to help others, be of service, speak at conferences, and share her knowledge. I have had the opportunity to watch Ann teach lessons to kids through videos she has submitted to me, and I was impressed with how well she connected with her students and how effective she was as a tutor. You would have to be crazy not to hire Ann.
Patience with kids that may not catch on as quick, ability to work with the kids with learning disabilities and the variety of teaching methods David is able to apply on an individual basis
Dr. Heger was a wonderful mentor and tutor for my son. She helped him learn the fundamentals for his French class and dramatically improve his grade. She made learning fun and he improved his pronunciation and conversational skills so he was eager to participate in class.

I have been a professional tutor for the last 2 years and have helped students achieve their goals in all levels of math, reading, and writing. From teaching 4th-6th grades to serving as a senior outdoor education instructor, I have held many roles in education. I currently hold a professional license to teach in the state of Colorado and am a certified Calming Kids Yoga instructor. I also helped revamp the curriculum for the National Youth Leadership Training Institute with the Boy Scouts of America. I have experience with Everyday Math, Singapore Math, Every Child a Reader, DIBBELS, Readers and Writers Workshop, and other elementary programs. Clients can expect my tutoring sessions to be targeted to the individual needs of my students. We will use a variety of mediums to meet the needs of the student. I believe that communication is critical between teachers, tutors, and families to help maximize our time together. I typically meet families in their home for 1-2 times per week. Having a professional teaching license, I am quite familiar with the goals and objectives of an elementary curriculum and seek to connect students in engaging ways with the material. I believe that hands-on education helps provide opportunities for all students to critically analyze our world. One such example of capitalizing on little loved resources came when I tutored a lesson on the rock cycle to a small group of students. Out of the box, I deliberately selected the worn down, wrapper-less, seemingly uninspiring crayons that most students would throw away in an effort to be creative. These brave little volunteers would serve as my test subjects. Slowly, I cut the crayon bits into small chunks. One could feel the excitement in my room! After taking turns pounding on the tin foil to represent pressures within the Earth, we exposed the crayons to heat via a dumpster dived candle and reused piece of tin foil leftover from our mystery meat camp dinner. My students synthesized their own theories before we compared what actual Stem scientists had concluded. And, best of all, this lesson used recycled materials!
Interaction is the strategy to learning a second language. Interaction allows the cultural background, structure of the language, meaning of the spoken, reading, and writing words, to be communicated to the student. Knowing a second language is an asset to the student, and allows the value of recognition of another culture besides their own. It is a cognitive awareness that develops during the learning process of a second language. I am a native Spanish speaker and a retired elementary school teacher.
I facilitate skill development in theory and application of mathematics. My style is old school, using pencil, paper and thought. I help build understanding and confidence through doing and answering developmental problems. I can tutor arithmetic through algebra, trig and more by negotiation.
I have passion for teaching Mathematics and would love to share the knowledge with the students as well as help and guide in their homeworks.
