FAQs
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Over the 2011 Christmas/New Years Holidays I had a client that was out of town for several days. I was visiting her German Shepherd twice a day and taking the dog on a walk, hoping to give her enough attention and exercise to get her through the day. Unfortunately every day as I left she began barking almost constantly. She began disturbing the neighbors in adjacent apartments and keeping them up at night. I encountered one very upset gentlemen very early one morning who expressed his concerns. I apologized to him profusely and told him that I would do everything I could to help. I had communicated previously with the owner and found out about her dog's toy restrictions and preferences. I went to the local pet store and picked up a puzzle treat ball with some soft treats. It was a huge success! The puzzle ball kept the lonely pup occupied for a while and helped pass the time between pet visits. Toys and "things" should never substitute the love and affection of a pet owner or caregiver, but they can help bridge the gap between times when pets and people can be together.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring someone to enter your home and care for your pets and your property the most important questions to ask before you hire are: 1) How much experience do you have? Professional experience is always an advantage. 2) Are you bonded & insured? If no, seek a different service provider. 3) Can you provide three (or more) references?
