A scholarship graduate of UC Denver's music department, he has been performing and recording professionally since the age of 14. Mike's journey with the guitar began when as a young kid he heard Van Halen perform on MTV. Soon after, Mike picked up a guitar and began lessons. Soon embraced by the talent of the local upstate New York musical community, Mike began experimenting with different genres he had been exposed to growing up, including blues, jazz, funk, metal, and classic rock 'n' roll. By the time he left high school and enrolled in a music college in Colorado, Mike was a working musician throughout the area, performing most nights of the week while putting in the hours at school during the day. After college, Mike performed in many bands and recorded a few albums. Mike relocated a few times, landing in NYC where he toured with numerous bands and performed regularly in NYC and the east coast. After relocating back to Denver, Mike is currently dedicating his time to teaching new aspiring musicians and helping inspire a passion for music in new guitar students. Mike can currently be found performing around the Denver/Front range area in country-rock group "The Stang Gappa Band" and soul R&B band "The Third Degree", among other freelance performances. Over the years, Mike has had the pleasure of performing at all the best venues in the Denver area, including The Fox Theater, The Bluebird Theater, The Gothic Theater, etc. When he's not playing guitar, Mike is composing new songs and recording and producing in his home studio for himself and other artists.

Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I found Mike on Thumbtack. He has been giving guitar lessons to my son Phoenix. Phoenix enjoys Mike as an instructor because he is patient and really understands what my son's interest in music is. We see Mike once a week and he is very dependable. I'm so glad we used Thumbtack. Thanx
