I have taken lessons from Michael for about a year for both jazz and classical guitar. Michael is very skilled in both genres and equally adept at teaching either. He also has a degree in pedagogy, he didn't just pick it up to pay the bills.
I have been taking lessons from Jerimiah since August 2016. He has a wonderfully welcoming and positive attitude, which makes his studio a stress-free environment to improve your playing and challenge yourself. He is very accommodating of students' busy schedules, and is always responsive to text and email. He is very attentive to individual students' goals, and is proficient in a diverse repertoire from musical theater to jazz to classical, both for piano and vocals. He puts on seasonal recitals for his students, which is helpful for student goal-setting and performance confidence. I would recommend Jerimiah to vocal and piano students of any age or skill level. -Dan N.
Gary teaches my six year old son and myself. (I am a late intermediate student.) He is an amazing mixture of skill and kindness. Some highly talented musicians are arrogant but Gary is gentle and encouraging. Being a great pianist doesn't necessarily mean you're a good teacher, but as a former elementary school teacher, I am very impressed with the way he's able to teacher essential skills at our different ability levels. Gary also really tailors my son's and my lessons to our unique personalities and interests. I can't imagine there being a better piano teacher in Northern Colorado. I highly recommend him.
Catherine is such a great teacher! She has helped me find my voice in Jazz as well as gain confidence in my daily life. I really look forward to our weekly lesson. I went from almost no vocal rage to two and a half octave range. I will continue lessons for a while!! She has become a great friend too. I am a 29 year old tattooed hairstylist and she has always been so welcoming and kind to me. Thank you Catherine, I am recommending her to many of my clients.
I studied as an adult student with Serena for over 10 years. She taught me music theory, chords, classical and jazz, and is always patient and skilled to take me down whatever musical path I wanted to explore. I have recommended her to many, and continue to recommend her as a teacher. I especially like that Serena enjoys teaching, and is not someone who settled into teaching when something else didn't pan out.
Cat gave a masterful performance with multiple unpredictable changes during the session for my parents huge 60th anniversary party over the Memorial weekend. There were many different generations that she had to play for and did it with ease. Cat was a trooper and a masterful performer. I am a pianist (for 18 years now) and cannot compare myself to her. She is wonderful. I plan on calling her for any and all future party needs. Plus she is so happy. I love happy people.
Tomorrow is my second lesson with Wil Snyder. I have been away from the piano for over 40 years. I was strictly classically trained and have no desire to resume to this form of study. I expressed a desire to try a new approach to hom. Wil spent most of the lesson listening to me and has set me on a new path of learning based on the jazz approach to music. He will teach me know more about music improvisation, piano theory, and chord structure. My first lesson has been to practice the II-V-I chord progressions, circle of the fifths, and major scales along with finger exercises. I realize that I need a lot of practice, practice, practice! But I am excited about this and believe that Wil will help me reach my goals. He seems knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in imparting his knowledge to his student.
I have known Eric for over four years now. He taught my son. As a result of my sons work with Eric, he was selected as the Large School guitarist for the Colorado All State Jazz Ensemble. He managed to do that for three years in a row making him the best high school guitarist in the state. Mike is now studying music at the The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. I feel strongly that he is excelling at this as a direct result of Eric's work with my Son. I have now taken my sons spot in Eric's busy schedule and am thoroughly enjoying his work on my playing as well. I would recommend Eric to anyone who is ready to become a guitar or bass player.
Outstanding in every aspect. David is talented, professional and I will call him again when I need a polished professional pianist.
My name is Candi Lu. My son Eddie Lu has been taking piano lesson with Tami for a few years. He is a very shy person but Tami is a great teacher. She has a special way to communicate with Eddie. He is has learned so much from her and is very comfortable of her teaching. She has always tries her best to bring the best out of her students. My son is very fortunate to have Tami as his piano teacher.
Taking guitar lessons with Andrew has been an awesome experience for me. I started studying with Andrew a few months ago with the hopes of learning jazz guitar, a style that was completely new to me at the time. Since then I have improved exponentially in my playing and understanding of the necessary theory as well as my appreciation for jazz music. Andrew is a great, enthusiastic teacher and his lessons are always well structured and informative. Also, Andrew is just a hub of knowledge. I feel like I learn more from him in an hour than I do during weeks of practicing at home. If you're looking for a guitar teacher, I highly recommend him!
I played in a jazz quintet with Mr. Bacalzo. Dean was the band leader and organizer, choosing the songs we played and making arrangement decisions in a collaborative setting. Dean's command of the piano and musical theory knowledge were two of his strongest attributes. He exercised an impressive and creative ability in his improvisational skills and out-of-box interpretations of our jazz standard repertoire.
Talented, personable, professional group of musicians! They were amazing.... Learning new music for us and accommodating our vocalists.
Bob and the Dr played with four other band members for a private party in Parker last night. Wow! The first set transported me to the Village Vanguard as we listened to Miles Davis and other great jazz. Each musician is supremely talented,in their own right, but the real alchemy occurs when then blend. .. amazing performance by all, with an encode of Spooky that left all clamoring for more. Can't say enough about the music, the arrangements, Bob Neuwoehner's original compositions. The evening was a huge success, and Blue Stone Mojo was an integral part of that. Bring these gifted pros to your event, you will be glad you did. Eric Zelt, Parker CO.
Derek Y Daniel are superb musicians. Their classical/flamenco style of guitar music is performed with great precision which, as an audience member, is very exciting to experience. Derek Y Daniel have performed several times at my coffee shop for music nights, as well as, for art receptions and other special events taking place in our venue. I can count on Derek Y Daniel to be punctual, professional and to put on an excellent show. It's always a pleasure working with Derek Y Daniel.
We received percussion lessons from Kevin Keith. He not only is an excellent musician, but he is a wonderful teacher. He is very knowledgeable in many genres of music, from solo literature, to band/orchestral music, to jazz. Of which, he shares his knowledge and experiences with his students freely. He is very hardworking and enthusiastic to ensure that his students get a quality education. He is great in communication, both with the student , in ensuring understanding of lesson materials, and with the parents on updates on how the lessons are progressing. He has a very patient and friendly disposition, that would allow anyone to feel comfortable in working with him. He has been a wonderful teacher and mentor for the past 2.5 years.
I have worked as a classical pianist for many years, and having attended many weddings with less than quality musicians, I was quite worried about hiring a quartet for my own cocktail hour! Red Rock Strings has several audio clips and videos available online and after seeing these I was put at ease! Not only is the quartet punctual and responsive as a business, but the musicians at my cocktail hour were charismatic and entertaining. We were so glad that we hired Red Rock Strings — our guests LOVED their popular and classical music and they truly made our event extra special. Thank you Red Rock Strings!
I have studied piano on and off for 60 years. Never has it been as much fun and as profound as it is with Allyson. She is so positive and her knowledge is deep. She makes it physically and emotionally comfortable for me (I have a hand issue) and I progress and grow every lesson. She is the BEST!!!
Excellent swing dance orchestra! One of the very best in Colorado. Strong players, great charts full classic sound, and Deborah Stafford is terrific. We love having them play the Avalon Ballroom in Boulder. Their last dance drew a decidedly large audience. Their three performances for us to date have all been great, and we will definitely be having them back. Jim Borzym, American Vernacular Dance
