- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While I wouldn't consider our pricing complicated, it does vary. For design, we use a graded system based on what tasks we are completing, i.e. we charge less for drafting work than design work. We have fees for when we are acting as a principal, designer, as-builter and drafter. We also charge for reimbursables (mileage, postage, printing, etc.). For event planning, our fee is 10% of event budget (minimums apply).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an associate member of the American Institute of Architects. While this seems that it would not be applicable, it allows me to keep abreast of many items that are closely related to interior design.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Unless you have received a raving review from at least one person and have seen the work they are raving about, it is of the utmost importance that you shop around for a designer that meets your needs.
