Introduction: Hi! My name is Lindsay Genadek and I am the owner and instructor at Denver String Academy. I have been teaching private lessons on violin and viola for 16 years and have taught orchestra at the public schools for 9 years. I am a state certified, highly-qualified music teacher and can easily differentiate all lessons to meet the needs of each student. My students have been accepted into All-State Orchestra, honor orchestras across the state, youth orchestras as well as college. My students enjoy and appreciate music. The word "fun" is always something that describes lessons with me! I have a music performance degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Music Education degree from Colorado Mesa University. I regularly attend workshops to enhance my teaching. I also play with multiple orchestras and performing ensembles around the Denver/Boulder area. I offer a free trial lesson to any student wishing to take private lessons with me. Mrs. Genadek is truly wonderful. She’s got a hefty amount of experience as a teacher and musician. It was always extremely inspiring to hear about her experience in school and even in a casual band! Her patience with students of all ages is also amazing. As someone who began their journey with string in elementary school and continued through high school, I always felt supported and positively challenged through my lessons with Mrs. Genadek.

Lindsay is amazing! Not everyone who is a talented musician makes a good teacher. Lindsay is gifted in both talent and teaching. She taught my daughter with technical instruction that was also fun and creative. We still sing some of the catchy songs Lindsay made up to accompany different violin rhythms my daughter was learning. Lindsay is nurturing and professional. She’s great with kids and an expert musician. Even when we moved away from Lindsay to a different town, she made an effort to spend time with my daughter and fit in a visit whenever our paths crossed. She cared and valued the relationship. I am certain my daughter’s love for music is in large part due to the contribution Lindsay made as a teacher.

Lindsay has been a wonderful teacher who takes care to facilitate quality learning with her students. The work produced through the Denver String Academy is high quality. Lindsay has so many wonderful qualities as a musician and teacher and is one of the most professional, yet down to earth instructors that I have met. She keeps the lessons fun and holds her students to high standards. I've never met someone who is so dedicated to their craft and shows a deep passion like Lindsay does. Lindsay taught me from 5th grade into high school. Throughout that time, I played in my school’s orchestra and received private lessons from her. Her teaching methods improved my skills greatly and I am proud of how far I’ve come as a musician thanks too her.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are charged monthly by length: 30 minutes, 45 minutes and an hour. Group lessons are charged by session.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free trial lesson to determine if both myself and the student are compatible and to determine where the student is at in terms of playing. From there, we schedule weekly lessons and set goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelors in Music Performance on Viola from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelors of Music Education K-12 from Colorado Mesa University. I have taught private lessons for 15 years and orchestra in the public school system for 9 years.
