Introduction: My name is Courtney Lynn Chandler, and I am a student in my Junior year at Metro State University. I am studying art and psychology, in pursuit of a career in Art Therapy. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the creative and expressive arts, and the calming, healing qualities they bring to those who seek it. Having gone through a dark time in my own life many years ago, I was able to overcome anxiety and depression through painting, drawing, and yoga. Practicing yoga helped me learn how to breath deeply, and find peace within my body and mind. The anxiety dissipated and I gained a new freedom. I have had the pleasure of meeting many people who shared their stories with me--people who suffered from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, among other things--who found that yoga was an excellent stress-relieving practice that changed their lives. The common thread that many people have (myself included), who practice yoga, found it helped them learn how to cope with their stress in healthy ways. Empowerment and transformation are possible through yoga, and I believe these are just a few of the benefits. As my love for yoga grew, I wanted to learn how to teach so I could spread the joy to others. I completed my 200 hour teacher training in December 2013, and am so grateful to be able to guide others through their practice of empowerment, love and light, through yoga. I focus on deep breathing exercises, and guide students through a motivational theme of focus with each fun, relaxing and empowering yoga class. Namaste! In addition to yoga, I also provide art classes to focus on creative expression. I facilitate art projects that fully empower you to get creative and express yourself in a fun, relaxing and artistic way. Challenge yourself to be inspired and connect with your inner artist! Art is powerful, beautiful and all around magical. I offer workshops which helps you tap into this expressive form of "creative play".
