FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The standard rate for most jobs is $50. However, I often give special prices for customers using the Thumbtack service, which is why you may see estimates for less. You only pay for the service we provide and the estimate I give you, nothing more unless you are specifically notified. Discounts are available for military personnel (active OR retired), firefighters, police officers, EMTs, etc. Let me know if you are any of these to get your discounted rate!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I live and breathe computers and technology. Even in my off hours, I'm fiddling with computers, upgrading them, and learning as much as I can about the latest technology. I have been working with computers for 16 years. I have held bench technician positions, as well as various hardware and software related positions for the Department of Defense and the New York Department of Education.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into this line of work because when my computers broke, I enjoyed finding what was wrong, why it happened, and fixing them. It started as a hobby and I happen to be very good at it. Combine that with the experience I have, and you'll have trouble finding a more qualified computer repair person.
