Coach Nick gave me Olympic weightlifting lessons, and I appreciated his detailed instructions, which helped me avoid potential injuries and better understand lifting techniques. He also taught me various mobility exercises to improve my lifting. On top of that, he’s a kind and friendly person to work out with—always smiling. Highly recommended!

I worked with Nick for several months when I wanted to leave the Olympic lifts. Nick was a great coach and really helped me develop the fundamentals of the snatch and clean & jerk. In addition to being very technically sound, he delivered feedback in a friendly and positive way. I strongly recommend Nick as a trainer.

I started personal training with Nick to improve on my overall flexibility, with a target to be able to pancake and do a facial split. Flexibility is not the most rewarding skill to learn, and I used to have a hard time working on it consistently. Thanks to our sessions over the 8 months that we have worked together, I have made considerable progress towards my flexibility goals such that I now have the motivation to keep working on it in the long term. In addition, Nick’s creativity with exercises, willingness to adapt exercise to accommodate my body’s limitations, and is mindfulness to my physical state on the day made our weekly sessions something that I looked forward to. Finally, Nick provided me with very relevant and well-adapted resources to work out on my own.

I had the pleasure of working with Nick Overturf as my very first personal trainer from September 2022 until April 2024. During this time, Nick proved to be an exceptional professional, dedicated to helping me achieve my fitness goals and improve my overall well-being. Before the personal training, I mainly had two problems. My swimming performance is not good with my weak core, I also had developed a mild hunch back from spending long hours at my desk, which was causing discomfort and impacting my posture. These issues made me feel frustrated and self-conscious. Naturally, strengthen my core and improve my posture became two specific goals when I started working with Nick. I was skeptical about whether personal training would make a diLerence since I’ve tried some exercises myself without much progress. My posture gradually improved after starting the personal training with Nick’s detailed plans, which reduced my back pain and made me more confident about myself. In addition to the muscles I gained, I also developed the confidence to walk in a gym and just focus on myself, which is something I can hardly have without personal training with Nick. To anyone considering starting personal training, I would say this: working with Nick has been a great experience. His expertise and dedication have helped me achieve goals. It does not only improve physical fitness but also contributes to overall well-being and self- confidence.

Training with Nick helped me improve my weight lifting skills right off the bat. He has a very down-to-earth training style that I think is conducive to beginners and advanced lifters alike. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for training in the compound lifts and olympic weightlifting!
