Teri staged our condo for selling. She did a great job at a very competitive price. The condo sold for 25k over asking price and well above our expectations.

Donna did an amazing job working with us as a family and taking a toddler into consideration on what she brought for staging into our home. Our house looked amazing. She was punctual and professional with each meeting and very efficient with hers and our time.

Our house was on the market for 3 months with no offers. Then we hired Kathy and it sold within a month. She transformed our house by adding style and pop! We were amazed when we first saw the house after the staging. And most importantly, it worked!

I had Jim completely renovate my home. He put in hard flooring throughout the entire house and stairway, knocked out a partial wall to my kitchen, painted the entire house, got rid of the old popcorn ceiling and more. From the beginning to the end, Jim was always easy to contact and he communicated very effectively. I arrived in Fort Collins on the day he finished and we did a walk through. My jaw just dropped as he showed me all the new updates. He went above and beyond and really made sure everything was done perfectly. He started and finished on time and stayed within my budget. I am constantly getting compliments on all of the renovations. I will be sure to contact him again when I have my next big project. Thank you, Jim for such a wonderful experience and working with me even though I was out-of-state the entire time.

100% SUPPORT ARTEMIS!!!! Not only are the easy to work with, every single showing I have had, the one consistent response is that the home is staged beautifully! And they were the most cost effective option. But the most important reason why I highly recommend Artemis is th personal touch. When I first hired them they were the most responsive and quickest to get the home decorated. I had my home staged, went under contract and then had Artemis come pick up the furniture and decorations. 3 days before closing the buyers bailed out on my contract and the house had already been emptied. I was so upset and needed to get the home back on the market asap. I sent a text on a Sunday afternoon in a panic and on Monday and Tuesday (or within 48 hours tops) I had the home completely re-decorated....I have never worked with anyone with so much heart and understanding. I promise, this will be the best experience from quality, cost and personal service...you are crazy not to use Artemis!!!! I have a small bungalow in Wash Park and just relisted so you can see more pictures form Beth and her teams amazing work here: https://www.trelora.com/homes/CO/c/Denver/p/665_s_sherman_st-denver-80209-co

I was in the process of relocating from Colorado to Washington. Megan was able to beautifully organize and stage my home to the point even my realtor said the house looked so good that he wished he could buy it for his own family. I can't thank Megan enough for her remarkable eye to design and style. Not only did she stage my home, but she organized a large shed, my husband's shop and a large garage. Whether moving or just wanting to reorganize, you will be very satisfied with Megan and Let's Get Organized!

Marisa has a wonderful vision to make each space in your home show at it's highest potential. My first experience with Marisa was in preparing to list a home in Southwest Denver. She staged the home using most of the homeowners own items and guided us in what to remove so the home looked clean and polished. The professional marketing photos we took stood out from the comparable homes in the area with Marisa's expertise. On top of that, she has one of the sweetest and kind personalities making her absolutely wonderful to work with.

I cannot say enough about Meg from Cherry Creek Interiors. She did an excellent job from listening to me about what I was looking for, to the design, helping with color choices- as I am horrible at it. Follow thru with the contractors and cabinet company. Her idea on reversing my main staircase will make such a difference. It truly opened up the entire space. Her work on the outside of my home was wonderful. The Riverstone on the front will look awesome with the beautiful large picture window she helped me envision. Cannot wait for the remodel to be finished.

I received positive feedback from my realtor and other design professionals. She was accommodating and professional throughout this experience, considering my opinions and preferences. She always wore a smile and worked very hard.

I received staging and home decorating services from Madera Rogers when I placed my 5 bedroom home in Denver, CO. on the market for sale about 2 years ago. Madera's style is tasteful and unique in her use of key accent pieces. She is mindful of budget considerations and always keeps commitments.

I have been a consumer of Sparrow Home’s services for several years. Sparrow Home folks have driven me to and from countless medical appointments and outpatient surgeries and always handle my walking disability with ease and kindness. I have had Sparrow Home workers hang artwork in my house, change ceiling light bulbs and furnace filters, pick up Rxs at my pharmacy, and organize my kitchen cupboards. Most recently, Sparrow Home organized my fairly large craft room - a job I could never have accomplished on my own. Sparrow Home workers are kind, knowledgeable, hardworking and honest. My life is so much less stressful because I know with a phone call or email I can get whatever help I might need. I highly recommend Sparrow Home for all of the caring and professional services it provides.

Derek was an invaluable asset to my home buying experience. As a first time homebuyer, I had numerous questions about every step and Derek never hesitated to walk through my question and make sure I fully understood everything. He also educated me on what to look for and select a lender. Those in Denver know how competitive the market is and Derek helped craft an offer to ensure I got the house I wanted. He is highly knowledgeable about real estate in Colorado and is very professional, I would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase or sell a home.

    About

Every design I create is client-centric. I dive into your passions, guilty pleasures and everyday life for a combination of elements that defies traditional labels and creates one that simply says "you". I also work on a flat fee basis and offer packages that allow you to shop on your own if you prefer. This means if you want to play a bigger role in the process, you can do the leg work and have a designer in your back pocket to text or call when you get stuck.

    About

I am an HSR certified home stager and redesigner. HSR is one of the top accredited home staging and redesign education programs in the country. I have a BS degree in interior design from Colorado State University, and am also a member of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners. I offer consultations for home staging and redesign, staging for occupied and vacant houses, new listing consultations, home makeovers and redesign, color consultations, new construction staging, quick staging for photo shoots, half-day or full-day home staging and redesign services, furniture and accessory rentals, hourly rate plans for design shopping services, and I offer hourly services as needed. My clients love my use of color and proportion and how quickly I can transform their home. Helping the homeowner and the Realtor stage a home is a worthwhile investment because the cost of staging for a quick sale is always less expensive than reducing the price of the home. At First Impressions Home Staging, we will emphasize the positives of your home and will downplay the less marketable features. We can make simple recommendations for the "do-it-yourselfer" or take away the stress and handle it all.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does it mean to stage a home?

Home staging is the real estate strategy of decorating your home to be as marketable as possible to your target demographic. Home staging is done by interior decorators and other design pros hired by the homeowner or realtor, prior to putting a house on the market. Think of it as setting the stage for potential buyers to fall more easily in love with their future homes — and to spend top dollar to get them. It’s likely to be worth the investment: The Real Estate Staging Association reports that staged homes spend 90 percent less time on the market than those that are not staged. Home stagers can also be hired even if you’re not going anywhere. Stagers can consult on new layouts for your current home, much like an interior decorator.

Home staging can take place while you still occupy the house you plan to sell, or when the home is vacant. For an occupied home, the home stager will clear out clutter, rearrange furniture, and bring in decor and furniture as needed to create the perfect environment. Usually an occupied home has far too much of the current owner’s personality stamped on it, which makes it hard for prospective buyers to envision themselves living there. A home stager should neutralize and beautify the space. In vacant homes, a home stager will bring in furniture and decor so that potential buyers don’t walk into an empty house, which can be equally hard to imagine living in as a cluttered, occupied home.

How much does it cost to stage a home for sale?

Nationally, the price for home staging ranges between $750 and $1,500. The price varies based on how many rooms in the house need staging, whether furniture and decor are needed or the stager can work with the client’s belongings, whether the home is occupied or vacant, and the sale price of the home. Occupied homes typically cost less to stage as they are already furnished, and can require less time and resources than staging an empty house. The main tasks when staging an occupied home are rearranging and decluttering. Staging an empty house can be more expensive as furniture and decor need to be trucked in, requiring transportation, physical labor and potential rental fees. Here are some examples of average home staging costs:

    • 2-hour consultation: $200, includes DIY tips and guidance.
    • 1- to 2-hour consultation and design session: $250, including written report.
      • Additional design consulting: $65 per hour.
    • 8 hours of staging an occupied home: $800.
      • Hands-on staging involving moving furniture, hanging and moving art, and decluttering.
    • Starting price for staging a vacant home could be $2,200.
    • A home stager may charge 1 percent of the home’s selling price.
