Carrie was absolutely amazing in working with my Schnauzer, who was very unfriendly toward most men and some women. After helping me use desensitization methods, as well as protocol, which helped my dog move past this overwhelming anxiety of new people, Carrie helped me to train my dog to be a Canine Good Citizen, which I am very happy about. In recommending Best Friends Dog Training for future clients, I would emphasize the fact that Carrie works conscientiously, and with motive, and is a women with a very amazing gift in working with animals of all types. She is a wonderful behaviorist, and from my perspective, as a School Psychologist, she is one of the top behaviorist in the animal-behavior field, who truly knows what she is talking about. Thank you Carrie for all you have done for my dog and myself.
Very happy with the work Dion has done with our new pup. He is responding very well to the methods employed. Dion seem very good at identifying dog personality traits and how best to go about getting results. He is very direct and to the point which we see very much as a positive in this sort of job. Would highly recommend his services. The training is more expensive than other options out there, but after multiple conversations with other trainers, he seemed like the best fit for our needs. Other trainers interviewed told us many of the behaviors our dog was exhibiting may not be trainable. Dion was up to the task and has done an excellent job.
Pete was a life saver. He taught us the techniques we needed to change our dog's behavior. We went from chaos to calm and began to enjoy our new puppy. Pete always listened to our concerns and provide guidance. Having the training in our house allowed us to work with our dog in her environment.
We learned a lot from Teresa! She helped us with techniques for our 1.5 yr old dog's fear/aggression towards strangers and leash reactivity. We were given great tools during our 3 months of training to continue improving in the future. Teresa is very knowledgeable about animal behavior and a professional that we would certainly recommend.
Daily feeding and care for single cat for 1 week. Excellent job, very caring, no complaints. Animal was well cared for and seemed very content upon my return from vacation.
Chris helped us work with our 3 year old Australian Shepherd who we felt had become aggressive and unmanageable after being attacked by another dog. Our dog had previously been through 3 other training programs with other trainers that did not seem to be as effective as we needed them to be. Chris is a thoughtful and dedicated trainer. He does not sugar coat things and make unrealistic promises. While working with our misbehaving pooch, he explained that without our dedication to correct bad behavior, the dog would not succeed. Training a dog is not something you do for awhile, it's a forever process, and Chris helped us understand that and be successful. He used smart techniques and explained what our behavior was relaying to our dog. He helped us take control of tough situations and also helped us understand why some situations would continue to be challenging, but would get better. Ultimately, Chris cares deeply for the dogs he works with, and it comes though in all of his interactions. We loved the time we were able to spend working with Chris and would recommend him to anyone interested in a quality 1:1 experience.
Mike is an amazing trainer. He has an amazing ability to read a dog body language. He has helped me with several personal and foster dogs to be appropriate in public spaces. I've learned a great deal from Mike about dog behavior.
We adopted Chappy last year thinking that he was just a little on the shy side. But just days after bringing him home he started snapping and growling at visitors, and avoiding us. Thankfully we found Scott. He really took the time to help us understand our dog's behavior and how we could effectively influence it in a positive way. He showed us the little changes we could make to help Chappy feel more comfortable in our home and with strangers. Within weeks his aggression was gone and if you met him today you’d never guess that our happy, playful dog was ever fearful or aggressive. We’d recommend Scott to anyone looking for dog training and can’t imagine where we’d be without his help.
I wish I could give 10 stars! Joey provided a board-and-train for my dog Mia. I am very excited to have her home, as she has transformed into an obedient and confident dog! Joey did an amazing job with her, and actually built a bond with her. I can tell after having her home that Joey was very attentive and gentle with her, which makes me very happy. I will most definitely be using Denver protection dogs & behavior training for more advanced training in the future, and certainly will reccomend to anyone with a dog! The only thing I would suggest to better the board and train service, would be to send humans pictures of their fur babies while they are away 😊
Annie is very passionate about animals, especially dogs and takes the time and care make sure they are well taken care of. Annie has taken care of my dog a number of times and it has always been a good experience for me and my dog.
I have used her for the last 10 months to walk my 2 dogs. She always exercises them well, leaves them and my cat fed...she also goes above and beyond and cleans the cat's litter box! She is very responsible and I completely trust her with my "family" and recommend that if you need someone to care your pets you give her a call!
Lance has an extensive knowledge on dog behavior and it shows in every aspect of his training. He was able to help us train our puppy to do basic things such as sit and stay, leave it, and even ring a doorbell to go outside to potty. Lance is able to adapt his training based on the response of the dog and our needs/requests. I HIGHLY recommend Lance. You won't be disappointed!
Alison has taken my dog Pig for 60-minute walks several times. Long walks really help burn up Pig's excess energy and help her sleep better. Alison is reliable and responsible and I can tell how much she loves Pig!
Patricia helped me out immensely during a very hard time in my life. My mother had been admitted into the hospital for an extended period of time leaving her 3 cats and large dog alone. As I was busy with work, it make it impossible for me to care for them properly. Thank God for Patricia who'd been highly recommended by a friend. She arrived promptly and took charge of the situation leaving me with the peace of mind I needed to see to my mother's health. Patricia went out of her way to only care for the animals but also spent quality time with them, playing and just hanging with them. She made sure the pets were well fed and that they never felt abandoned or lonely. Patricia was a life saver and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, warm assistant no matter the calling.
What a fabulous experience we had with Christine and K9to5! She’s very knowledgeable about dog behavior and is happy to share her knowledge. Classes are fun and always positive for both Dog and handler. Highly recommend to anyone looking for training. Thanks to Christine I’ve been able to achieve my long time goal of becoming a certified therapy dog team.
Our Thumtack contact was a very knowledgeable and confident trainer names Andi Nault. She was not dissuaded by my very active Rhodesian Ridgeback who loves people and any dog withing eye view. She worked patiently with us, gave us some new tools to use with Penny and lots of encouragement. She offered doggy daycare which I thought might be useful and it was. Penny learned to read the cues of the other dogs that didn't want to roughhouse. Andi was very good with Penny, consistent, confident, reassuring and had other options to offer us if we wanted them but no pressure. She recommended Boarding facilities we had no knowledge of, other trainers, behavioral specialists, hour long dogie play time, etc. I highly recommend Andi Nault for whatever dog behavior you want to address.
We had a great experience with Jessica. She truly seems to love animals. Our dogs tend to get sensitive tummies when we have to go somewhere, but they did great with Jessica, she came to our house to meet the dogs, and we sat down and talked about them and a schedule. We came back from our mini vacation and the dogs seemed happy, and the left a daily report of the dogs and what they did, which I really liked. She even gathered our mail and had it waiting for us. Her rates are the best I have found. Will definitely use her again, and recommend her services.
I've never met a more caring and supportive vet than Dr. Questen, she's been our vet for many years, my animals love her and she's always there when we need her! I highly recommend her!

You won't regret it.
New To Thumbtack
I grew up with all kinds of animals - rodents, cats, dogs, and horses. I started working with dogs when I was 15 years old. Now a days I work front desk at a dog training center and in my spare time, I volunteer as a dog trainer for the Dumb Friends League and I volunteer at a Boxer rescue here in Denver. I'm very comfortable with dogs of all sizes and when your dog is with me, he/she will be both physically and mentally stimulated since I love long walks and I always bring puzzle toys for the dogs.
