Tennis lessons have been a wonderful experience with Tom. Our 12 year old daughter is a beginner who has had no experience in any sport and is quite shy. Tom is a coach who has been able to identify her needs and has worked with her with patience, praise and dedication. Our daughter is enjoying her classes so much, that she asked to have two lessons per week. It is great to see her self confidence grow and her commitment to improve in a sport that she never thought she would enjoy. We highly recommend him!

Working with Robert has been a wonderful experience. He challenges you, but still moves at a pace that allows you to grasp each new technique. Every lesson is customized and different, and he is very flexible with his schedule. Our tennis lessons are one of the highlights of my week! Thanks Robert!

My friend and I had a great tennis lesson! Thomas was extremely prepared and taught us critical tennis techniques. As a beginner, I felt extremely confident leaving the lesson with the ability to volley forehand and backhand. Aside from being extremely knowledgeable and skilled at tennis, he was very friendly as well. He was a great instructor and I definitely recommend him! My friend and I both are really looking forward to taking additional lessons with him.

Drop Shot Tennis really helped my daughter get ahead in her tennis skills and experience. Not only is this just a sport but it is a good escape for kids to really let out their frustrations out and get outdoors! Drop Shot Tennis is a very serious instructor so if you are not serious about learning and working hard you should find another teacher because he is the best instructor we have ever been with and anyone will be more than lucky to have him! Excellent experience with him! -Sally's Parents

I took instruction from Mark in early May 2017. Mark is engaging and easygoing while providing in depth analysis and essential helpful improvements. He revealed several important technical changes in each stroke we worked on and gave specific markers that will help me produce all my strokes more consistently and help me win matches. He's a good listener and a patient teacher. He summarized the key points we worked on in a follow up email, as I had requested. I highly recommend Mark and will use him again myself. Gary Tucker

I used to hate tennis, because it took long for me to me actually learn it, it's not just the physical part but my mental and emotional being. Now that I don't have the most important person in my life who taught me tennis, I wanted to inspire people how it change to me to like tennis for lifetime.

I am a collegiate tennis player/instructor. Private and/or group lessons are available for ages five to18. Private lessons consist of focusing more on formation and their ability to become a stronger player. Various techniques are shown to the player, as well as involving the player in instructional drills to aid in their performance. Group lessons have the same focus point. However, more games are played and the focus on solely one player does exist, but isn't as frequent. It is more of group drills and learning. By both, your child will improve without a doubt.

About

"Own the Mound" was started in 2011 by Tom Mahony, a former professional pitching prospect and New York-state "pitcher of the year". Over the last three years, Tom has trained over 100 young pitchers in the tri-state area privately, professionally and successfully. It is Tom's proven ability to simplify and teach the proper and effective fundamentals of pitchers deliveries that has become a valuable "difference" when comparing his lessons to those standard, more common lessons we're all accustomed to. Countless references are available upon request at any time.
