Jorge and his crew of two helpers spent the better part of a summer's day prepping, powerwashing and painting one side of my 1850s farmhouse this year. The job included replacing some rotten clapboards. Because I have a standing seam metal roof, which is difficult to navigate and prone to being scratched, I was a bit nervous to have the job done. However, Jorge and his team were very professional, and took extra care to protect my roof. They also covered all windows before painting. The finished product was completely up to my satisfaction, and there were no surprises (the price that had been quoted to me beforehand was the amount expected at the end of the job). Jorge's workers even offered to powerwash the side of my house that was not being painted, and they used leftover paint to recoat my porch...all at no additional cost to me! I highly recommend them.
Rob did an amazing job on our front stoop and walkway! Although we were not able to start when we wanted due to an injury, we were pleased with how responsive Rob was. He was able to complete the job in a couple of days and it looks fantastic! Our neighbors all stop by to complement his work. I would definitely use Rob again for any future projects.
They were able to turn an eye sore crumbling front porch into a majestic composite front porch. Rome has incredibly skilled people working for him and i thought that he was the most reasonably priced contractor.
I do not even know where to start. If Bruce lived in a different time he would have been a Renaissance man. He possesses a masterful blend of artistry and intellect. The first project he did for us was to redo a simple laundry room. This entailed making templates and installing granite for a counter with a sink and a making a folding table/counter. He had to repair some sheet rock and repaint the room. The results were impressive. The second job he did was design and build a workbench for my art studio. His architectural renderings were impressive. He measured the length of my arms to insure I was able to reach the peg board behind the work bench. He thought to install a length of electrical outlets beneath the lip of the bench. The side drawers are easily opened and closed and the paper trays are large enough to hold my watercolor paper. He is extremely meticulous and his work shows this. He installed glass doors in the basement studio to allow more light to enter the area. When this wasn't sufficient, he cut through the concrete and installed a window (with molding and a sill). His masterpiece was the deck he built for us. With Bruce's skill and our artistic input he produced a showpiece deck. The three tiered deck allows for minimal visual obstruction of the woods below. He installed tiny lights on the stairs to make them safer in the evening. He thought of these. He made a portion of the deck curved to provide harmony with the landscaping. Again, his renderings were precise and impressive. He laid everything out carefully and was always thinking ahead. Our deck is magnificent. He handled all the paperwork for the permits as well. On a smaller scale Bruce hung paintings, our TV, glass doors leading to a bonus room, fixed all our leaky faucets and provided names when we needed a generator and a water softening system installed. Bruce is one of a kind in that he is masterful in so many areas and knows when to get a consult. He is prompt and ready to work hard. He put in very long hours, cleaned up and just did amazing work. I still look forward to having him finish an upstairs loft, a bathroom in our studio and build a space for a china hutch. I feel so fortunate that we found Bruce and would give him the highest of recommendations. He really is a Master of many things! He is also very easy to talk to and to work with.
This is a reference for Mr. Steiner and the wonderful, competent carpenter work, patio and fence work he has performed for us in our home. Mr. Steiner was organized, on time and worked within our budget for the project. The completed porch exceeded our expectations. His input answered many of our questions and concerns as the project got under way. We since have had him in for many other projects and each time he has brought wonderful insight to the project and has accomplished amazing things in our home and patios. We would certainly recommend Mr. Steiner for any project. He is our go to person when we want it done right, on time and in budget. Sincerely Mary Wells 203-484-2226 August 10, 2014
Mel worked on various repairs including repairing a water damaged ceiling, a warped baseboard also from water damage and rehang a garden gate. Mel had to track down a replacement baseboard piece and garden gate hinge. He also painted the two front porches, the repaired ceiling and a wall. Mel is very easy to work with and does quality work.
Albi and his crew did a fantastic job on a concrete wall for a CarMax dealership. Albi is professional, fast, and very easy to work with. We will definitely be doing business with his company again in the future.
M&B Unlimited Construction was very professional and reasonably priced and did an amazing job building my front porch! He listened to my ideas of what I had in mind and then designed and built me something that was beyond my expectations. Also he was so quick to respond compared to other companies I've dealt with in the past. Would highly recommend!
I had the front deck/porch replaced on my home. Virgil did a good job. The porch is very sturdy and a huge improvement on what was there previously.
Anthony Jones was an incredible carpenter that took pride in his work. He installed french doors and built a side porch for me. He was pleasant, transparent and honest. I was left with both finished projects that I was quite pleased with but also with a carpenter that I would trust to call for ANY projects.
I had a dirt pathway going from my porch to my driveway. During winter I would be slipping and sliding on icy water or mud to get to the car. Tim put down patio blocks all the way out from the porch and totally solved the problem and saved me from falling eventually. I also had uneven steps coming off porch and he shifted them so that the steps were safe. I found him to be polite, respectful, very willing to work in any way to solve the problem.
Brian's excellent craftsmanship and knowledge about construction made our expansive front porch the talk of our area! Great job.
My 1950's garage was in pretty bad shape. It had severe rot damage, termites and was home to a family of raccoons. It was racked to one side and leaning backwards. I was braced for the possibility that it would either collapse or have to be torn down. The setbacks on our property would have made the garage a nightmare to tear down and replace. Chris assured me that this would not have to happen despite it’s condition and half of the structure needing a new concrete floor poured. He braced the structure on all sides and very carefully brought it back to plumb before restoration work began. The project went very smoothly with only a few unanticipated issues which Chris quickly and inexpensively resolved. When it was all finished, Chris had transformed a dilapidated eye sore into the crown jewel of the block. My neighbors were all very impressed with my "new/old” garage. Chris's work ethic is excellent. He is punctual, professional, the site was cleaned up and put in order each night before he left for the day and above all the quality of his workmanship is outstanding. I've used him on several projects over the years and my motto for Chris is that he doesn't know the meaning of the phrase "it can't be done". I’m always so impressed by photos of his interior renovations and custom built cabinetry and furniture. If you need direction or ideas he is very creative with tasteful suggestions. Chris is a pro and I highly recommend CMK for projects big or small.”
We have hired Tom several times in the last few years for carpentry related problems. One project was a persistent leak from three large bay windows. Tom ripped out all the old wood and installed Azek (pvc type wood) so we wouldn't have to paint anymore- Hooray! He also eliminated a small window and matched the vinyl siding after removal of the window. He continued to follow up with us to make sure there were no more leaks. His last project was to install a screen door on the outside of a French door to the porch. This required some Tom-type ingenuity to make sure the door worked properly. Tom pays great attention to the details at a reasonable price. We recommend him highly!
Al has done numerous projects for me at my house over the past 15 years. He is always polite and very professional and does wonderful work! Some of the projects he has done include painting, creating a beautiful concrete counter top, installing French doors, and building a gorgeous 2 level deck leading from the french doors to my pool. I would highly recommend Al Uliasz for high quality, professional work at a very reasonable price!
Right from our first meeting, they knew exactly what I wanted. The job was done much quicker than I hoped. Now I have a beautiful railing for my porch.
Chris has worked on my "flat" roof several times -- it is rolled rubber now (formerly asphalt which continuously failed) because of him and his Dad determining rubber to be the best solution to the continuous leaking I had my family had experienced since 1947 when the house was built. The roof he and his Dad installed (SW Debbs LLC) is protecting my 1947 "modern" house with a roof that looks flat but is efficiently pitched. The roof on this house always presented problems with its asphalt coating used over decades -- major leaks and interior damage had consistently occurred. Chris and his father installed rolled rubber to remedy the situation. They also discovered through close examination that some seepage was occurring via eroded concrete on a decorative parapet. They applied material that stopped this water seepage efficiently. What a relief to find someone who would not walk away from a challenge -- someone who stuck with the problem until it was solved satisfactorily! Rare! Most recently Chris and his Dad repaired a portion of the "flat" roof that had been installed (before I met them) by another contractor. They adjusted the slight pitch of that portion of the roof to channel the run-off efficiently, installed insulation which had not been done previously, and re-installed rolled rubber properly. Again, a long-standing problem was diagnosed and solved at a reasonable cost. Chris is efficient, on time, focused, friendly, and totally reliable. He gets the job done at a reasonable price. I am currently renovating a colonial house from the 1790s, and I intend to have the roof rebuilt and replaced by Chris' company. I know him to be honest, hard-working, dependable, and determined to solve problems and produce robust results. I offer my highest recommendation!
My experience with Twin Renovation was outstanding. They finished my basement and this project was completed about 2 weeks ago, so while I can't comment on the long-term lasting results, and immediate finished product is exactly what I was looking for. It was a relatively simple job - I just wanted the concrete walls nicely finished in a cost-effective way and for the existing tile floor to be covered in carpet. Right off the bat even before coming to see the project, Vinnie spent time with me carefully listening to my ideas and questions, and giving me advice about what would work best for my situation. Quotes I got from other contractors only included moisture protection, framing with furring strips, and drywall, and were still astoundingly high even without the flooring. Vinnie's quote was significantly under every other quote I got and included all those things plus the carpeting, painting the walls, framing out the windows, and installing a nice baseboard and window trim. Vinnie and his team were all very friendly, approachable, and accommodating, which helped put me at ease because this was the first home renovation project I had ever attempted and I wasn't confident in how to walk through the process. Vinnie communicated well and kept me well-informed every step of the way, and they ultimately finished the entire project in under a week while staying true to the original price quoted. At the end they told me that if I noticed any problems or issues that I should just call them and they'd come back to fix it. I also really appreciated their honesty because at the last-minute I asked if they could carpet the stairway as well and Vinnie said that his carpeting specialist was not available for a while. He said that the person doing the work was proficient in carpeting flat flooring but was not proficient in stairways, and he would prefer to be honest rather than potentially do a sub-par job on something. I think sometimes people can be greedy and want to find any way to inflate prices and make an extra buck, and that is just not how Twin Renovation does business. I got a fair price for high quality work and I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to anyone I know! Thank you!
Kevin’s work is outstanding it was a pleasure having him work on our front porch
I hired George to repair my back porch floor, railings and stairs along with a few other smaller repairs I was impressed with his workmanship and attention to detail I will definitely call Mack construction for any future projects large or small
I have enjoyed working with Keith Martin over the years. He has painted a number of rooms for me on various occasions, including remodeling a condo and later my home. His expertise in helping me on color was on the mark. He's very professional and works with you until the job is completed to your satisfaction. Last summer he completed painting my front porch. I wouldn't think regarding hiring anyone else, he's my NUMBER ONE choice for painting. He is very honest and goes above and beyond, he has an excellent work ethic and is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him.
