Harry was awesome! We had what I thought was a leaky pipe in the basement but turned out to be a leak higher up behind the actual shower head. We were worried about needing to remove tiles or cutting into the sheetrock on the other side, but Harry did everything he could to avoid that, and was actually able to take care of the issue without any mess. Three things stood out to me in my experience with Harry which make me happy to recommend him to others: 1.Harry couldn't come out the day I made the thumbtack request but he helped me troubleshoot the issue over the phone and via text. Never had anyone offer that before. 2. Harry is super nice. Friendly, upbeat, extremely personable. I generally don't like people so that's saying a lot! 3. His rates are reasonable and he charged for the exact amount of time he was here. No rounding up an extra hour, no funny $20 charges for a $2 part. I'm pretty frugal (or cheap if you ask my wife) so I appreciated that. Very glad I called him. Will not hesitate to call him for future jobs when needed.
so far we've been very pleased with the process Thumbtack has in place for hiring. I find the reviews very helpful.
My remodeling project is still a work in progress. Brian is providing quality workmanship, has left the work area immaculate at the end of the day, and has kept me updated and involved every step of the way with our project by providing me pictures and prices of hardware, tiles, vanities etc. which is extremely helpful to me due to my work schedule and just not finding time to shop around! It is a pleasure working with a contractor who understands our budget, and is enthusiastic in accomplishing an updated, modern, and fresh look for this older bathroom. Thanks Brian!
Rome and his guys were great. We originally planned on only doing a couple things, and after seeing the quality of the work on stair repair and popcorn removal, we also had hardwood flooring installed, drywall replaced and tiling done. The work Johnny, Reuben, Jesus and the other guys did was beautiful and the prices Rome gave us were very reasonable. I would recommend him and his guys to anyone looking to get professional quality work done to their home.
We are EXTREMELY pleased with the work Boscarino Custom Tile And Painting did in our home! Anthony was knowledgeable, friendly, punctual and professional. He completely understood the scope of work upon my request and to my pleasure, quoted and scheduled the job accordingly. He asked a lot of questions as to my preference with the install and offered professional advice when decisions seem to elude me. He dealt expertly with the challenge of my tiny bathroom with wonky, non plumb walls, and my existing 1950's wall tile, (cutting material out in a soaking thunderstorm to boot!) Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Boscarino Custom Tile And Painting! I'd contract with Anthony in a heart beat again!
He did an excellent job on our bathroom installing porcelain tiles. He showed up on time, got right to work & cleaned up after himself every day. I already have more worked lined up for him as well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have tile work done.
Allan is a fantastic mason. We are very picky and many contractors don't do a great job. However, Allan is great. We hired him to just do a stucco facing on our foundation but ended up hiring him to finish a job our landscapers did poorly. He did the following work for us: Removed and replaced the stucco on our foundation, built up a cement foundation under a column, replaced our blue stone on our porch, removed and replaced a cement slab for stairs to our mudroom, and replaced all our belgian block around our entire driveway, parking pad and walkways (approximately 600 block), and cemented them into the ground (which the previous landscaper forgot to do). He came to work early and stayed late to get the job done. His price was also better than any other people who quoted the job. We can't say enough great things about Allan and would prefer to hire him for all our masonry needs in the future.
They did a great job installing the tile. Very professional, clean and I would hire them again. If you are looking for great workmanship I would recommend Ceramic Soul.
Gerry's work speaks for itself. We are thrilled with the tile work he did and would definitely hire him again.
Five stars!!! Dan did an amazing job on my lawn. He removed all the leaves and overgrown weeds surrounding my house and restored my beautiful stone path. For such a big lawn he finished in no time and was kind enough to offer even more of his services. I will definitely be hiring them again in the future not only for landscaping but for any new home improvement projects. Thanks dan!

He did an excellent & professional job replacing tile in the kitchen, 2 entry ways & the downstairs bathroom. He has extremely reasonable rates & was willing to work around our schedules. He was willing to put in long hours to complete the project in a timely manner.
Nick was great from start to finish. He really took the vision I had for my fireplace and made it happen. I highly recommend Nick for his tile work and will be hiring him again for other home improvements.
Mark did my kitchen remodel which included new cabinets, countertops, tile backsplash, and tile flooring. We gave Mark a must have start and end date and he finished early. He worked in a clean, safe, and professional manner. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a skilled carpenter in all phases of home improvement.
ASG was hired to paint the front of our four story apartment building. Andy was very professional and communicated with us through every facet of the project. The project was completed in a timely fashion and came out wonderful. His skills and expertise was apparent in all the work performed. I look forward to continuing to have ASG provide their services for all our painting needs.
I hired Frank for one big wall demolition and ended up hiring him to do my walls and floors as well. Good quality work, went the extra mile. I asked for some changes and he was very responsive and made the work exactly as I wanted.
Had backsplash installed and Roland did great work with difficult tile and wall.
When I contacted Square Feet Contracting, my contractor of 8 years had just walked out on me leaving my old kitchen floor ripped and the sub-floor only partially redone. This was the weekend before Thanksgiving and the kitchen installers were coming to install the kitchen at the end of the week after. This means that we had about a week (Thanksgiving included) to finish preparing the sub-floor, tiling, and grouting before installing the kitchen cabinets and appliances. I contacted Square Feet Contracting over the weekend and Paolo was at my house on Monday morning. He saw the project, took his measurements, and gave me a quote and a contract on the spot. Being that he could get started on it pretty much immediately, I signed right away. Paolo came with his co-worker Roberto always on time and in good spirits. This was a complicated tiling job because of the amount of obstacles, corners, closets, laundry closet, and little nooks that required a lot of patience and tile cutting. On top of this, part of the kitchen was an addition done many years ago and the floor wasn't exactly level. Paolo suggested changing the pattern of the tile in that part of the kitchen and that turned out to be an excellent suggestion. Not only was the unleveled floor issue solved, but the change of pattern looked aesthetically beautiful. He also suggested that we use the same tile to add a baseboard (battiscopa, as Paolo would say in Italian), and that was another excellent idea. Our floor looks incredibly beautiful. I definitely deserve some credit for picking such a gorgeous tile (lol), but Paolo and his crew truly did an amazing job in a timely manner (not rushing, but never stopping) and for a reasonable price. Since then he has also done my foyer. There are just two steps that go from the foyer to the house and the way he blended the kitchen tile on the horizontal part of the steps and the foyer tile on the vertical part of the steps is really remarkable. Paolo takes pride on his work and that shines through in the final result. I have so much respect for that. Now I want him to do my back-splash (as soon as kitchen counter-tops are installed), and then we'll move onto the two bathrooms. I give Square Feet Contracting five big fat stars without hesitation and I strongly recommend them to everyone.
I have an 80's condo that needs a full remodel and wasn't sure where to start. Mark was recommended to me by a coworker. He came in, looked the place over, discussed my must haves and my wish list and gave me an estimate on the first project. Starting on the main level he removed a partition wall to open my kitchen. Then he removed the popcorn finish on my cathedral ceiling, refinished and painted it. I was very happy with the results so I had him continue with my list. I work a lot so I gave him a key. He comes and goes as he needs to and I have no worries. He installed my bamboo floors on a diagional because it's the design I wanted. When I couldn't get trim to match he took flooring to his shop and made custom transitions and thresholds. He installed a tile entry with more custom trim. He built an island where the wall had been to hold my new sink and dishwasher which included relocating the plumbing, electrical and all new outlets. He even made "countertops" out of cardboard so I could see exactly how it would all fit in the room and where to locate the faucet. Through all of this he has been easygoing and helpful with the many decisions I needed to make. He also had no problem with me doing what I can-painting and cabinets to keep costs down and working with the tradesmen I brought in to do code work. I have recommended him to friends and family one of whom thanked me for sending her "a guy who is so honest" when he told her it would be cheaper for her to replace a damaged ceiling than to have him patch it up. Next will be new floors, more popcorn removal, ceiling fixtures and new tile in the bathroom upstairs and Mark will be doing all of it. This is not my first reno but it is as easier than any of the others. I will post pictures shortly so you can see why I'm so happy.
They were precise, on time and dependable and did a great job. They were professional and flexible to my schedule which had to change slightly. We plan on using them again in the future for additional tile installations. E.S. Glastonbury, CT
Jerry and his team did a wonderful job laying two types of flooring in our Café in Wilton, CT. The front room was a diamond pattern of vct tile and the back was a wood laminate. Both required extensive prep work which was executed in a timely and professional manner. Jerry and his team were flexible and courteous to the other members of the construction team and I would recommend them most highly.
