David and Nancy are an excellent team. They are very good listeners and they assured they understood my vision completely ahead of time which made a photoshoot that much more fun. What I love about them as a team is that they are always able to see what the other person is not seeing so they compliment each other so well. David took so many great images and I had more than I expected (given I am a mom of 2 small kids under 5, it's a challenge to play dress up and carve out a lot of time to get really good photos). But here is the thing, I am really good at what I do and Nancy was able to evoke that from me and I feel that my photos totally represent it. Most of my photos are really for my use in marketing and website for my coaching practice but I will include a fun one just so you can get a picture. I highly recommend David and Nancy and look forward to doing this again.

Our home is 100 years old, and remodeling a guest bathroom can be tricky. The discomfort was quickly removed with Irene Designs creating the plans and doing the work. It is a room I love to go to daily to look at and enjoy. It is simply beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone. They were punctual, creative, neat and accommodating. The statement is true when working with Irene Design, they truly deliver outstanding customer service.

I make T-shirts as a hobby. A while ago I wanted to make a T-shirt for my brother with an image of an artistic interpretation of a portrait of Werner Herzog on the front. I was aware of some of Jae's work before, and because the unique look and attention to detail, I commissioned Jae to design the image of Herzog for me. In just a few days Jae finished the image and it far exceeded my expectations. The image was unique and original, the colors were sharp. The detail on the image was clean but not overdone. I liked the design so much I made a shirt for myself. I will commission Jae to do work for me in the future and I highly recommend this artist to others.

Jackie designed a 25th anniversary logo for our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. The executive director approved the design and was extremely happy; with only 2 minor changes. Jackie knew just what the ED wanted. The 25th anniversary logo was used on letterhead, t-shirts and all marketing items.

We've done a BUNCH of graphic design work with Steve, from our website logos and business signage to our t-shirts and print based advertising campaigns. He's even designed images for vinyl banners for us. There's nothing the guy can't do, and he does everything exceptionally well. -John Durrett, CrossFit Hartford

Tom Harper is a longtime colleague who is a multifaceted asset to the business of music...he is a talented bassist and singer, a recording engineer and equipment tech. He is also, of course, a gifted and award-winning graphic designer both within and without the world of the internet. Tom is my current webmaster and the designer of www.christineohlman.net . He provides trusted counsel to me on all matters related to the web and is an invaluable part of my personal music business team. I would recommend him highly in this capacity, and the others outlined above, to others.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

      • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
      • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
      • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
        • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
        • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
        • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
        • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
