We hired Bartenders' Express for our daughter's wedding at a 200 year old barn in Wethersfield CT (the Webb barn), for approximately 95 people. We supplied the alcohol; they supplied the accoutrements, glassware, and three bartenders who did a fantastic job. Efficient, gracious, nice, fun.....terrific service. They insisted on helping me load the excess alcohol in my car for me. I'd use them again in a second!

Christine and Cameron catered our wedding on Sept 15 and it was fantastic. They were very professional and easy to meet with before hand. They focused on every little detail to make the day perfect for us. The food was amazing and all of our guests raved about it. We still can't believe how affordable Cameron Culinary Concepts was. Victoria and team were a pleasure to work with and made our wedding day completely stress free! We used Victoria and Everlasting Affairs for day-of-wedding coordination, and Victoria's help in the weeks leading up to the wedding and on the day of the wedding exceeded my expectations. What an event ! Susan and her staff were unbelievable ! The food served was outstanding ,from passed hor’s doeurves to the grand chateucerie table and “over the top “main course buffet and desserts ! Where do I begin? Terry-Ann truly has a natural gift. She loves what she does and she loves making her clients happy. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not the easiest to please but I can honestly say that Terry-Ann exceeded my expectations. I kept sending her different pictures, different ideas but she was very patient with me. She understood how important my wedding day was to me and she tried her hardest to ensure that I had the wedding of my dreams. I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't see much pictures online or WeddingWire reviews but I'm happy that I chose her. I wasn't able to take pictures during the wedding but I'll try to update this post and upload some pics when I receive them from my photographer. Her flowers were simply gorgeous and the flowe wall behind my sweetheart table was to die for. I keep getting compliments from people who were there or who have seen my pics on social media. Adrienne was simply amazing. She worked with us and our needs up until the day of the wedding. We really liked her professionalism and how organized everything was. Sophia worked as the day-of coordinator for my sister's wedding in Gloucester, MA this October. I wanted my sister to have her wonderful day, without the stress of all the moving parts behind the scenes; my sister wanted me to enjoy the day, as well. That is what led us to look for wedding coordinators. Finding Sophia was a gift for us both. I COULD NOT have asked for more. From the very first time I spoke with her, Sophia was warm, kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Sophia knew the right questions to ask to help my sister as she planned, and to get all the information that Sophia needed to run the reception seamlessly. And seamless it seemed! Receptions are always busy, with so many moving parts, but Sophia had everything working smoothly and handled whatever issues came up in stride. There is a different between event planner/ designer and CEWP( certified event and wedding planner ) which I was not aware until I had the opportunity to see my color event’s work. I was hesitant about paying for a wedding planner, as I was expecting to have a fairly simple wedding (yeah, right), so Helen offered a very low rate that I could go with. Given what I was paying, I couldn't expect her constant attention throughout the process, and although she made some contacts with vendors I mostly pulled all that together myself. HOWEVER, on the day of the wedding Helen took on the role of coordinator and proved she was worth every penny and more. It was great to have a professional to take the reins while I was morphing into stress-out bride mode. Helen was fun to work with and very enthusiastic and excited about my wedding from day 1, and since I was an "older" bride and somewhat removed from the whole wedding thing these days, she was great for providing ideas and advice. Very glad I chose to work with her.

After many disappointing conversations with "would be" event planners and listening to them talk AT me rather than to ME... I came across SVN Events and gave them a call. It quickly became evident; after speaking with Steve, that I needed to search no further and I enlisted his services to help make my once childhood dream a reality. Working with Steve from SVN events was an extreme pleasure. He was super attentive to detail; big and small, refreshingly creative as well as resourceful, and extremely professional and responsive. I reached out to SVN Events to help oversee and coordinate my summer wedding...which entailed 300+ attendees, many years of visions and very vocal family members that; at times, were opinionated and aggressive. This proved to be no match for Steve and he was able to work with and relate to them all. He was dedicated to the process and delivered on all of the visions that I had always dreamed of. He took the time to explore and discuss all of my immediate needs and concerns and even gave me more attention than I think I deserved. Any "obstacle" or concerns I may have had at any point throughout the wedding planning was immediatly addressed and resolved by his professionalism and expertise. I dont think I realized just how much work Steve really did until I saw evidence in the photo and video footage and received countless compliments after the event from attendees. SVN events delivered above and beyond anything I had envisioned for my special day and without him I am certain the day would not have been as incredible as it truly was. Magical doesnt even begin to do it justice and two years later it is still being remarked about as the best wedding people have ever been to. I attribute much of that to Steve and SVN Events and am fortunate to have found them.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.  

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

  • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
  • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
  • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours.
