FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a base hourly rate that is both commensurate with my experience and competitive with both corporate and "boutique" tutoring services. The base rate is negotiable depending on your budget, and I offer tiered discounts for multiple sessions purchased upfront.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we must agree upon the needs of the student. For standardized tests, we need to determine: - Test date(s) - Subject(s) where assistance is needed - Number and frequency of sessions If a customer requires academic assistance or acting instruction, the approach is more dynamic, depending on the class, the syllabus, and the student and parent's goals and expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in English and American Literature and Language from Harvard University (much to the chagrin of my calculus and physics teachers). Since graduation, I've been working as a private tutor, actor, and acting teacher in New Haven and Fairfield Counties. Students appreciate my easy-going sensibility and sense of humor, while parents appreciate my professionalism and history of results.
