Fantastic! I can recommend Arbor Tutors without any hesitation.
Raul has helped my son immensely with his AP Spanish Class and with his final class speech presentation. Raul is a great teacher/tutor, who was always patient, professional, and courteous with my son. Raul was of great help for my son. He is very knowledgable and i highly recommend him no matter what the task in Spanish might be. Peter L
I began taking lessons from Sara as an intermediate level Spanish student after living in Peru for 5 months. She is an experienced tutor who has done an excellent job evaluating my capacity and weak points. After every lesson I feel that I have been given the tools I need to continue studying homework on my own. There is no magic shortcut to learning a second language, just lots of hard work. Sara will keep focusing that hard work where it needs to be directed and help you make it over the obstacles.
I needed some help with algebra in 8th grade. My parents had heard of Jeremy from a friend, so we got in touch and he started tutoring me. Jeremy is an excellent tutor. He helped me with my Algebra and all of my other subjects. He has a vast array of knowledge in all subjects ranging from Algebra to History. On top of that, Jeremy taught me what was important to focus on. He helped me prepare for the SAT and showed me how important it was. I went on to do excellent on it. This is what separates him from other tutors. He informs you of things that will be important in the future even when it has nothing to do with what you are learning in class. All the while, Jeremy is friendly and down to earth. It felt like a friend or family member was tutoring me. I truly couldn't give him high enough praise.
I started working with Kamil late in my college process. Many tutors doubted that I had enough time to prep and were only willing to work with me as a sort of "second hand client". With only two months left before my last possibly act during my senior year, Kamil and I worked day and night to achieve my goal score. Often meeting before and running after midnight only to see each other at six the next day, Kamil and I turned my test scores around to help me get into Cornell University. Kamil is kind, conscientious and committed. For him, standardized testing tutoring is a calling. He is his own brand.
I hired Beatrice a few weeks ago for my daughter. She loves her. She is punctual and is very good with teaching Sophia what she needs for Spanish. Sophia is very comfortable with her and loves her teaching style. We will be keeping her on as her tutor. She was a great find. I highly recommend her.
A great tutor. Peter makes sure that you understand the material, and that there is nothig you don't understand. He asks many questions to keep the material fresh in mind. Very helpful! I recommend for anyone who needs some extra help.
Jim tutors my son for the SAT's. He is extremely professional, patient, timely and entertaining. His true talent shows in his ability to access the situation and move forward using traditional and non traditional methods to achieve success.
John's the best tutor I've ever had so far. He's very patient and able to translate the material so you can better understand the subject. If you really take the time to try and learn as much as you can, you are guaranteed results with his guidance. All in all, he's a respectable man and worth the money and time. I would highly recommend him to anyone friend or stranger and definitely going to keep in touch if I need help in the future.
I had taken French for many years, at the Alliance Française and with 2 private tutors from the Alliance. Ainna is better than both of them. Both of the private tutors didn't do anything except talk to me in French. For that they charged $80 an hour. Ainna charges less, and we do exercises that help me really learn. The Alliance classes were good, but they didn't help at all with my accent. And I didn't get a lot of talking time, even in a small class. I highly recommend Ainna!
Wonderful experience working with this company. They connect me with competent tutors and they always respond to my inquiries immediately.
Eve was an outstanding tutor for the ISEE. We hired her with just 6 weeks to go until the test - we had been using a New Haven-based tutoring company that just was not doing the job - in that very short period of time Eve managed to coach our daughter from the middle of the pack (ISEE steniles 4 and 5) toward the top (stiles 6 and 7). Plus she was very flexible about scheduling and was amenable to meeting our daughter in New Haven. We only wish we'd enlisted her sooner! We will definitely seek her assistance for our next set of test preps!
She is a very talented tutor, and I will continue working with her for the long run!
Katya is a great tutor! She worked with me herself twice a week and also provided support between sessions. She quickly identified my knowledge gaps and my “most limiting factor” which was speed and strategy. My SAT Score went up from 1200 to 1400! WooHoo!
Anazing teacher, funny and commited to you.
Judy Garfinkel is fabulous, I could not ask for a more considerate professional who has the experience and creativity to work outside the box. Our grandson is in 1st grade at a public school. He could not understand how to interpret what he was being taught (mainly phonics & reading), his behavior was disrupting the classroom because learning was too stressful for him. I looked into tutoring programs, but it wasn’t till he began working with Judy that he began to feel better about himself and more confident. His teacher has noticed a big difference. I can honestly say Judy has our grandson's best interest at heart. Judy’s approach to learning is fun - he loves to go see her and is actually skipping when he leaves her office! Judy also has experience with the school system; she advised us on what to ask for and gave us suggestions on how to proceed, including avenues, strategies to look into. Judy is currently coordinating with his teacher, too. Judy is so much more than a tutor and she’s worth every penny of her fee. I’m not just pleased, I’m ecstatic because now my grandson is getting the help he needs.
Gina is a GREAT tutor and has been with us for many years. She is exemplary in every facet of the word! I am positive that she will continue to have a profound impact on those she tutors!
Our experience with Sarah has been fantastic! Sarah tutored my son in science and math and his average increased by at least ten points in each subject. In this year, his junior year of high school, my son averaged 95% for the year in his math course. Sarah is always well prepared, offers her own additional resources if she has them and suggests resources and where to obtain them on our own. She is always pleasant and upbeat and my son enjoys having her as his tutor. I would highly recommend Sarah as a tutor.
I've worked with many tutors over the years and Zoe is in a class of her own. She comes prepared with relevant lesson plans and sends helpful notes after each of session. She is simultaneously intentional and adaptable. Her approach is creative, encouraging and goal oriented. Of all of the tutors I've worked with, I've made the most progress with Zoe. She is a star!
Ken Cyprus was my math tutor from eighth grade to senior year of high school. While all other subjects came easily to me, math was a difficult subject for me, and it was holding me back from having the high GPA I could have. With Ken's tutoring, I was always the highest performing student in my math class and never worried about my GPA being impacted by math again. Throughout the years, certain math teaching styles wouldn't work for me, and I struggled with the material, but Ken never let me give up. He worked not only on my math aptitude but also my confidence and I became a more engaged math student. Ken would give me test problems, help me study, and create material catered to my specific weaknesses so that by the time a test came, I could do it on my own. He was also able to help me score higher than I ever thought I could on the SAT. Now, as I go into my senior year of Barnard College and am getting ready to graduate with both a degree from an Ivy League institution and that of an elite liberal arts college, I look back with immense gratitude for Ken. I couldn't have gotten here without him.
