My wife insisted we go to counseling since we were fighting all the time. I was skeptical, but Alison made me feel comfortable. She didn't take sides or make me "the bad guy." She taught us how to speak to each other so that we wouldn't keep going in circles and getting madder. She helped us both see our part in the problems and gave us ways to make things better. We're better parents now as well, not only because the kids don't have to see us fighting, but because we're calmer and have better strategies for dealing with conflict. I'm so glad we went. My wife and I haven't been this happy since we were first married.
We set goals together. We prayed together. She made suggestions depending on what I wanted to do. She helped me get a complex task organized. She neither let things slide that I wanted to to, nor pushed me to do what she thought was a good idea. A very well balanced and spiritual counseling experience.
Marriage counseling; very accommodating, felt very comfortable with her and she gave wonderful advice.
Very compassionate and helpful
I'm from the Bronx, NY and I have been dealing with issues of depression, as well as trying to move in a direction for my life. I've dealt with issues of separation from my partner, financial crunches, and still trying to achieve my future goals. It's as if I felt paralyzed, and I experienced panic attacks when trying to make decisions. Ms. West surely went above and beyond in her ability to help me address these problems. Along with being prompt and prepared, Ms. West was able to really help me confront issues within our sessions, and we even complete exercises that give me more insight into my issues. I am truly impressed by the quality of her work as I have been able to move past these feelings of paralysis, and make decisions that are truly allowing me to move forward.
The therapy I practice looks at your situation from a systemic view, meaning we look at all the influencing factors to the concerns you bring to our sessions. We as humans do not live in a vacuum, and that should be considered in therapy. Family, friends, past relationships, and so much more play an integral part of who we are. I make sure the work we do is solely focused on these factors in order to help you obtain your desired goals.
Dr. Cofrin, is warm, sincere, intuitive & very knowledgeable in her field. After leaving our first session with her we felt good, so we know better things await us.
I really appreciate all the help Walesca has provided my family. When I lost my mother in 2013, my then 6 year old, took the loss pretty bad. I was so lucky to come across the bereavement services offered by Walesca. Through group therapy, my son was able to talk about his loss and share with other children experiencing the same. I also decided to join a bereavement support group for adults moderated by Walesca. I learned how to cope and understand my grief in a supportive environment. At the same time, I also learned how to be supportive to my son. I highly recommend Walesca and her amazing services.

A satisfying relationship, whether it's with our partner or with our child, is hard work. When struggling with relationships, it's easy to forget what makes them special and unique. Throughout your journey in therapy, you will gain the power to rebuild and strengthen your connection. Together we can discover the patterns in thinking and interacting that have led to managing conflicts ineffectively.
