FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally ask what is required of me and from there the general price is set then multiplied by the number of customers. Where possible a discount is given for larger amounts of clients. Over all the price stated is a fair amount for services. The key that I keep in mind is that I charge what my work is worth every time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a discussion about what we are embarking on together. I request any photos that support their vision and I also swatch products that may be potentially used on their hand. Once we can see the actual consistency of the formula and the color pay off then I inquire what their eyes are drawn to. From there I share my education and teach the tricks of the trade to empower them to be aware of how and why I selected the products being used. In fusing educating tips with the visual display of products the client can then practice the step or opt for the entire application to be done fully by me. Clients are free to ask questions and make last minute exclusions of products, as changing our minds is always an option. Another type of technique that I notice that works best with new clients is, keeping the conversation light and more on the professional side and not personal. For example, asking a bride if she is nervous can become a major issue for a make up application because tears and non water proof cosmetics don't mix. (A little MUA comedy)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
To stay passionate I constantly pay attention to details. With that being my motivation I take professional training workshops and ask all my colegues and clients to share with me their favorite products and applications. When I worked at counter as a certified Bobbi Brown artist, we receive constant educational support. Twice a year seasonal training as well as monthly meetings with our Education Coordinator. Our EC kept us fresh and current on our brands mission. I also am a Fashion Design and Marketing major. I attended AIU University in Atlanta GA there I received a professional education in design, style and marketing. A love for the fashion industry was established at a very young age and I have worked as a fashion show and fashion photo shoot coordinator. With L'Orquidia model agency in Atlanta GA I learned the ends and outs of managing the production of a fashion and style exhibition. These two areas are my two main passions and I work constantly to develop them. Having over 20 years of Retail/Wholesale Selling experience has taught me that product knowledge is the ultimate key to being a leader in product and service distribution. If you are friendly and capable of speaking with a diverse array of people and you know your giving value as gift to them, then every encounter translates into a life experience and feels less like work.
