Let me start by saying that as an event planner, I would like to refer Chef Kev as my "caterer of choice" to all of my clients. Chef Kevin's catering company is FABULOUS! He is not only has a wonderful personality - but it is clear that he loves what he does and is passionate about preparing quality and healthy food. His food and customer care are outstanding. He was able to accommodate our law firm open house of 70 with no problem. He planned a creative and exquisite menu, arrived early before the event, came well prepared and set up a beautiful table. The guests were blown away by his food - which was DELICIOUS! Several guests requested his business card, and there were actually no leftovers... (Teriyaki Meatballs and Mesquite Chicken Wings were to die for!).
Dee was very responsive before, during and after contracting with DMV Staffing. Then on event day, with 60+ Guests for a post-wedding brunch, Dee and her staff handled everything smoothly, pleasantly and professionally. They needed very little direction after being oriented at the start and just took care of the guests, the buffet and bars, keeping everything replenished and cleaned up. They cleaned up everything and left the house in perfect shape after the event. Many guests commented on how helpful and pleasant the staff was and how smooth and unobtrusive the service was provided. I was delighted with Dee and her crew. I would highly recommend them.

Candra is an amazing event planner! Very professional, organized, energetic and best of all passionate. She handles things in a timely fashion and events always go off with out a hitch. From food, decor, activities, and surprises...her events are always fantastic. I have been to several of her events...and each one fantastic! She stands out because she can plan & host a party. Which she does both remarkably well. She can vibe with any crowd from toddlers up to senior citizens. Her passion for the youth makes any child party/event amazing. I've seen her in action and kids just love her!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Floyd's DJ services was! They were professional, paid attention to detail, kept the party live and got involved with the crowd. My husband threw me a 40th birthday party and they really added to the specialness of my celebration. Everyone commented on how wonderful the music was and they accommodated guests requests as well as my special requests. To top it all off, I had an all green affair and they had beautiful green up lights for me and the DJs wore green too. I thought that was so nice and thoughtful to dress the part. At the end of the night both DJs engaged in nice conversation with my husband and I as they were breaking down their equipment. I was well pleased with their service and am going to recommend them for another event later in the year. If you need a DJ, go with Floyd's DJ service. I promise you will not be disappointed!
After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.

I loved everything about working with Dianna of Catering reserved! From start to finish she delivered everything she promised, including delicious food! She was prompt, creative, and thorough in her proposal; she worked with me to refine my needs and I was very comfortable with my final decisions; Her pricing was affordable and fair and most importantly she promised there would really be enough food to feed everyone and there was! She promised it would be delivered on time (it was), that her staff would set it all up nicely without my help (he did!) and that it would be hot and delicious (and it was!). Nothing was forgotten; nothing was omitted. The serving utensils were there, the sterno, and the clear containers were perfect for serving the food in. I didn't need china serving dishes for my event, but Dianna does offer that and if my next event needs Catering Reserved's full service, I won't hesitate to use it. (Food plus waitstaff for setup and clean up.) I've never met Dianna in person, and I never tasted her food prior to hiring her for my very important event, but from our first conversation I just knew I could trust her, and I was right. I highly recommended her! Thanks to Catering Reserved, I got to visit with my guests and totally enjoy my "after-the-wedding" party.
We loved working with Mary! She knew our venue (Historic London Town) like the back of her end, so it made it so much easier to handle all of the ins and outs leading up to our wedding and on the day of. Mary was such a lifesaver for us, helping us think through the setup of the event, planning our rehearsal to make sure we knew what we were doing, and corralling our vendors in line with our planned schedule. Whatever we needed from Mary, she was willing to do, and always with a huge smile. This included taking care of the clean-up of the decor items we brought to the venue, and even meeting us a couple days later to pass off things that couldn't fit in our car. Would work with Mary again if given the chance!
Michele and Christina were more than we could've asked for. They helped plan, coordinate, and deliver beyond our expectations. My stress levels were very low as they were always responsive before the wedding day and they were on top of every minute the day of. Michele guided our wedding party and vendors with ease and worked hard, yet effortlessly allowing me to feel at ease. Christina was also on top of every moment and went as far as bustling my dress and helping me specifically with things I, myself , wasn't even prepared for. I know they handled much more behind the scenes. I'm thankful for their passion to help and their organized fashion of doing so. Anyone who needs a coordinator in the D.C. I hosted a function for about 200 people and used ELG Event Productions. Lisa was awesome! She helped me stay in budget, she was organized, and had a great attention to detail. She thought of things and brought them to my attention before they occurred. On the day of the event, she ensured that things went smoothly and we stayed on track with the timing as outlined in my program. Overall, I had a great experience using ELG event planning services and would highly recommend them to everyone!
JCE did a wonderful job for my first "Plugged" event. The was an empowerment forum and from the beginning to the end JCE did an excellent job, with communication, product delivery, scheduling, planning, food selection, vendor preparation and staffing. My event was seamless and I don't know what I would have done without this company planning my event. We are due for another "Plugged" empowerment session 2015 and JCE will be planning and working this event again.
These two young ladies are great at what they do! I hired them last year to help assist me with a Bartending Event and they were able to accommodate for it last min which I was grateful for at a price that couldn't be beat! I will use them again this year for another event!

When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. This is especially in comparison to other planners out there. If you need help planning an event, not just a wedding, we highly suggest you reach out to Vanessa @ Little Black Book. You absolutely will not regret it.
