Rob did an INCREDIBLE job with mounting multiple flat panel televisions and pieces of art work. He is unbelievably professional and polite. He is the ONLY installer that I trust for my personal audio video and wall art installation needs.
Rob seems to be a jack of all trades who understands how things work and will perform small jobs. He installed adjustable shelving in my pantry and a bedroom closet. There were metal strips with brackets and the laminated shelving had to be custom cut. The pantry was tricky because there was an immoveable bracing board in the back, so each shelf had to have a notch cut into it to fit against the wall. The finished product is exactly what I wanted. The shelves are perfectly level in both the pantry and the closet. He worked very neatly and paid a lot of attention to measuring and cutting. I also hired him to assemble a large desk which I ordered from a catalog. It has five file drawers and a slide-out keyboard holder. He unpacked the boxes and assembled the desk perfectly. He was very careful to ensure that the cherry finish didnt get scratched during assembly. I have also seen some of his other work. He builds cornhole boards and finishes them with custom colors and logos. He creates original signs for basement bars and game rooms using fine hardwoods, hand carving, and a router. He seems to have a real talent for fine woodworking.
Very friendly staff. They did an amazing job setting our tv and home theater system up. The crew also did a wonderful job of hiding the wires with minimal amount of holes in the wall.
Greg and his partner were very professional and courteous.Price much cheaper then Best Buy geek squad. My TV looks great.I am very happy and proud to show off my TV.I have received many compliments.Would highly recommended Greg for all your audio video needs.
We all have been in a situation where there is accidental damage when doing some home improvement project. When that happens, you want a contractor that will stand behind and fix it without making it stressful for you. I hired CHAS to run a 50Amp line to garage - they had the best reviews and most price competitive. And he was the only one that pointed out that I might need a permit to do this work so it made me comfortable that they knew what they were doing. While drilling the hole they hit the freon line. Chuck was so great. He immediately got a very professional HVAC company to come out to get it fixed. After HVAC company spent 1-2 hrs trying to get to the line, they decided it was not possible to get to the line. So they brought a carpenter the next morning to open a big enough hole from the garage side. Even then, they determined they will not be able to reach the line for repair. They ended up running a whole new line from outdoor compressor to the unit in the house. Up and running in 24 hours!! This was all done professionally, without causing any stress to me, and was done as fast as possible without me saying or pushing anything. Chuck was great through out the process. While his insurance covered this cost - he did not wait to get the insurance company approval to get the work completed in my house. If I need an electrician I will definitely hire them again. And I highly recommend them.
We interviewed about six companies to install a video system into our condo building. Alex and his partner were very professional. They installed an eight (8) surveillance camera system in our condo building, partnering with our Board members to decide where the cameras should to be positioned. They trained us to operated the system, and they've been coming back when adjustments are needed. Our Board is very pleased. We highly recommend them. The system has already been valuable to our Condo Association.
Brian from Digital Sound was exceptional he was on time and had my TV mounted in 20 minutes. I would highly recommend him he did a beautiful job mounting my 46inch in my bedroom with no mess. He might not have as many reviews as every tv mounted on here but he is definetly one of the best as I have used two companies before.
Home television and sound bar mounting.
I hadn't used thumbtack before and I was nervous about someone I didn't know working on a project in my new home but I read some reviews and Jameson Ekectrical looked pretty good. My expectations were exceeded. Nate did an exceptional job installing three light fixtures in my new home - a chandelier in the living room, dining room and master bedroom. He was professional, considerate and patient ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. He was on time and inexpensive and I would absolutely use him again for any electrical needs.
Jon was hired to mount three televisions in my home. He arrived on time and was ready to work. He discussed his proposed approach with me in regards to mounting each of the tvs and asked me to provide input prior to starting the work. He outlined the price for me up front so I knew the price I was looking at prior to the installation. He did an extremely professional job hiding all cables and wires at my request. It was a great experience and I would hire Jon in the future for other projects.
Very professional, experienced and knowledgeable. Did a great job. Highly recommend for any media, home theater needs.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
ABC&R Builders did a great job remodeling my master bath room. The contractor was very professional and detailed and had a great attitude. I will call this company for future home improvement projects for sure.
Pablo did an excellent job and Veronica the lady who booked and arranged my appointment with Pablo was very professional and very patient with me. This company does an excellent job with installing equipment and they even do a great job of cleaning up afterwards. They have excellent attention to detail which is very important with audio/visual installations. I will be using their service again. I am very pleased with their work.
David did an incredible job! He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He showed up early and got the job done quickly. He finished the work below the estimated time/price. We will definitely be contacting him again in the near future for other jobs and will refer him to anyone looking to complete any audio/video work. Thanks again David! The kitchen will now be filled with music this Thanksgiving.
I just want to preface that SWAT A/V Solutions is by far, hands down, one of the best companies I've ever hired to do a home project. Bill, the owner, is a mastermind that will give you best ideas of where things need to be place or installed and will make sure you have no questions in the end. He has an amazing crew of guys who are fast, precise and detailed with every facet of their job and make sure everything is pinpoint perfect and flawless. Not only do they have amazing work quality and great personalities, but they have the best deals on speakers as well since they are certified distributors for Bose, Bang and Olufsen, and Snap AV (Episode). I ended up buying Episode speakers/subwoofer from them and instantly LOVED them!!! I can't speak enough to the amazing quality of placement and price of the work they did. Here is the synopsis of work they did to my home: -Installed/wired a 7.1 channel surround sound system in the basement -Mounted TV in basement -Mounted TV and hid wires on the second level -Installed internet drops in the basement and in my office so that all devices are hard wired into router. All I can say is go with these guys, you won't regret it, and they know what they are doing.
Hugo and his helper wall mounted our new 55 inch tv. They installed a sound bar as well as an infrared sensor, which allows for hiding the cable box. They drilled holes into a cabinet we had purchased to hide the wires and equipment. A stereo receiver was also hooked up with 2 speakers installed in our kitchen ceiling and a volume control knob installed. All these improvements required cutting into drywall and patching, which were neatly done. Hugo also did the research for me about what equipment I needed to purchase, which was all online (no visits to Best Buy or other store of that ilk). The best thing, I have to say, is that Hugo came on short notice, in fact it was the day after Thanksgiving. The two men spent about 6-7 hours at my house and literally transformed it from 20th century technology to the 21st, all for $500. I think we got a great deal, and I hope to use Hugo for future projects. Finally, Hugo is very nice, pleasant, as well as extremely hard working and responsible. Thank you, Hugo!
Just thought I'd give credit where credit is due. I don't normally give reviews, but thought I should in this case, as the whole project went so smoothly. This has not always been the case for us when hiring contractors in the past. Shane is hard working and dependable. He has many years experience in a great number of construction / contracting fields. We recently had him do some work for us in a commercial recording studio, installing an antique door, (antique for aesthetics) and the end result was great The door and header above are level, look neat and tidy, and finish and trim are done to a high standard. Couldn't be happier. I might also add, that Shane's prices were fair and reasonable, and throughout the project he conducted himself in a professional manner. Shane also paid respect to his surroundings, in so far as nothing was damaged in the studio, and he took care in cleaning up after himself when the work was completed. He also kept the work area tidy while the work was in progress. We will be calling Shane in the future, as we have some outdoor trim, fascia, and soffit that are in need of repair. To cut to the chase... I highly recommend Shane if you are in need of any sort of renovations, or need help with any other construction related upgrades or repairs.
Richard Roseen's service was second to none. He is pleasant to work with and has a calm and laid back demeanor. He helped mount a tv to my wall, set-up my surround sound stereo system and also helped assemble a desk for my office. What made Richard so great to work with was his versatility in his ability to fix and put together anything you need for your home and office. He also provided recommendations and products vis-a-vis texts by sending links to specific products and places where I can order those products. He also picked up the tv mount when arriving to my home for assembly. So clearly he understands the demands in time for his clients and is willing to go the extra mile to get products prior to arriving to your home. This went above and beyond as to what I originally expected from him. I highly recommend Richard and plan to utilize his services in the near future.
I contracted EGA Automation to install an entire house audio system. The entire process was so smooth, from the consultation to the finished product. I can now enjoy music throughout my entire house and I couldn’t be happier.
Christian mounted a tv, hung a huge mirror over the sofa, installed a ceiling fan in the kitchen and assembled an organizational shelving unit from Ikea in the basement/office. He installed my washer and dryer for a small percentage of what Home Depot wanted to charge. I was delighted with every job he performed. He was friendly, organized, professional, conscientious, courteous. I will be rehiring him for some outdoor work when Spring arrives. He is my go to guy for everything.
