Home Staging

Trait Interiors was an absolute delight to do business with. Since I was looking for someone just as the COVID-19 virus was escalating, time was of the essence. Kelley responded quickly & was able to address my exact needs and timeframe. Since I had not used them previously, I knew I was taking a bit of a risk. But I reviewed their photos & portfolio online, spoke on the phone with her, and felt confident they were the right ones for this job. Fortunately, I was right! I was extremely pleased with the results of the staging, and my seller—who was, by then, already gone and living halfway across the country—was both shocked and impressed when she saw the photos. Most important of all, we received an offer over list price and had a ratified contract within four days. I believe wholeheartedly that staging is key to both optimizing the list price & reducing days on market. That said, not all staging firms are created equal. Having used others in the past, I can genuinely say that Trait is grade A in services , speed, and pricing. I’m happy to recommend Trait and look forward to using them again in the future.

Kelley was great. She had great insight and tips and was able to get me a competitive price to meet a short turnaround time. Even before we settled on a contract she answered all my inquiries. Even at late hours. I had my own porch and patio furniture she was cool with us bringing over from one home to the one I was selling. I liked that she made that process easy and took care of moving the furniture over. Some stagers I called said we couldn’t mix in our own furniture with theirs, so that was a plus Kelley was okay with that. I like that she used modern furniture and her inventory was available for the date we needed the home staged to get home on the market. She staged both the basement rental unit and main floor of my house: Dining, Living, and master bedroom, kitchen, and baths. My contractor and realtor were also impressed with quality of furniture and design decisions to transform my vacant property to get the WOW factor from possible buyers.

Needed a stager for a home in rural Maryland and put the bid out on Thumbtack. Trait Interiors was professional during the phone consultation, in-person tour of the home and followed up with messages and pictures to confirm staging was complete. The contractor who did the renovation, photographer and friends all took the time to contact me and compliment the staging.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Every home is different so it is very difficult for stagers to provide a quote for vacant staging without seeing the home. Remember, staging is not just the furniture rental. It requires design planning, preparation, moving costs and labor. Your final quote factors in all of these aspects. A good rule of thumb is to budget at least 1% of the homes value towards Staging and small cosmetic improvements (changing light fixtures, painting, cleaning and staging).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We love working with new clients! First we schedule a phone consultation (typically same day or the next day after request is received). We discuss your staging needs and then schedule a site tour to take photos. This appointment typically lasts about 10 - 25 mins depending on the size of the home and does not require the client to be present. We provide a quote and we confirm the date. You sit back and let us do the rest!
