Classical Keyboards
Introduction: I am a professional classical musician: solo and ensemble pianist, vocal collaborative piano, instructor for gifted children/teens and non-beginner self-motivated adults. Keyboards refers to piano, harpsichord, organ, and synthesizer.
I am the Music director for Catholic, Episcopalian, and Lutheran liturgies among others. I am a choral director and accompanist who can conduct choir from the organ bench.
I do vocal repertory lessons in the following languages, all musical styles: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Latin, and Polish.
For venues needing classical piano, I like to say that if you have a "classical piano emergency" that I can perform from memory for 2 hours on zero notice if I am not already booked.
I do not play "by ear".
My inspirations are: Scarlatti, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Brahms, Debussy, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Tschaikowski, and Ravel.

Mark Blaschke's piano concerts at Kirkwood Library in New Castle County, Delaware, attracted me, especially the fact that he is interested in teaching experienced piano students. Mark's impressive musical training, as well as the many beautiful and interesting programs he offered at Kirkwood Library convinced me to study piano with him. Mark helped me regain my musical repertoire, and experience the joy of once again playing pieces that I had learned decades ago. His extensive knowledge of music and musicians, superb technique and skills, coupled with his patience and his ability to motivate and inspire a student to reach ever higher levels in music has enriched my life.

Mark Blaschke's piano playing is always full of insights and refinement, with lovely phrasing and beauty of tone ! One could hear and feel a myriad of colors coming out from his fingers. His playing is natural, unpretentious, yet full of passion and spontaneity. Mr. Blaschke shows a deep understanding of the music repertoire which he always played with great panache. His interpretations show his thorough command of the style that is called for specially for each of the piano works in his thoughtful and balanced program. His marvelous piano playing brings so much sparkling delights as well as soulful underlying emotions that remain with the audience, even after the concert is over...A true Artist, whose piano playing is honest, full of integrity and magic !

I've known Mark for about 9 years and he is an absolutely outstanding musician. I first heard Mark play at a church-sponsored Italian Fest. The church was St. Anthony of Padua in Wilmington, Delaware and Mark was then the choirmaster. His playing was so inspirational that my wife and I decided to join the parish. For the past two years I've taken piano lessons from Mark. He's an a amazing teacher in addition to being an incredible pianist. The emotion that permeates Mark's interpretation of every piece he plays simply can't be described in words. The most accurate description is: Wow!
