Introduction: This website is devoted to the practice of healing, health and wellness as seen from an Eastern view. This perspective was born, cultivated and improved in one of the world's great civilizations—China! Now, a word about our identity, Dragon's Gate. In China, dragons are believed to be beneficent creatures, and are held with respect and awe. The most potent sign of the Chinese zodiac, these mythological beings live in the heavens and instruct the powers of nature. Dragons are intelligent, charismatic and powerful. Dragons are also confident, dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic. They're believed to take with them sinewy healing powers. So, here is to the Dragon and the healer in you. In China, acupuncture points are known as "gates." These gates are very much similar to the usual gates of the English language. When working properly, they permit easy exit and entry. In the instance of Chinese medicine, these gates provide the smooth movement of energy—known in China as qi (or chi, and enunciated "chee"). Qi is also translated as potential, breath, or life force. Even as a physical gate must stay free of impingement and rust, so too the energy gates of the body, mind and spirit. For without tranquil movement, sickness will soon follow.
