All Around Tree Service is a husband and wife company. I have nothing but praise for the work they completed for us. The prices are very competitive and the work was outstanding. We had a large tree on a busy street that needed to be removed. In addition, we had a number of very old trees that were in desperate need of attention. We chose All Around Tree firstly because of the team. Michelle is dedicated to customer service and Ryan demonstrated his knowledge on how to handle old growth tree's in the historic district of Concord. We had to have a very large tree removed located to a busy city street and the team executed flawlessly with no damage to the surrounding area. It was not and easy job. They performed so well that we had them take care jobs while on-site. More importantly, the cleaned the site to the point you did not know they were there. It just looked great. Michelle proactively communicated prior and during the job to ensure that we had all the information we needed to ensure our continued comfort on the tasks ahead. End of day. They have good hard working people that deserve your consideration for your next tree or landscaping needs. We are so pleased that have hired them for landscape planning and a host of other work that needs to be done. The quality of work speaks for itself.

Very pleased with George Zebley and the clean-up he did at our home! We have recently bought in Cape Coral. The lawn had not had a lot of attention in recent weeks/months and, being from Michigan, we di not have a lo knowledge or experience dealing with the variety of Palms and other tropical plants we have adopted. George was extremely thorough during our walk-thru, providing info on the varieties and specific care each of the trees and plants required. George was equally thorough in his execution of the plan he formulated to begin bringing our lawn and plantings back to their full potential. Thanks, George! We have hired American Lawn Care for our regular lawn maintenance now that George has got our lawn and landscape back in shape!

The work has not been performed yet. This rating is based on his rapid response, on sight review of the tree work to be done, professionalism in pruning and trimming advice, very fair price and the fact that he will be on sight when the work is being done.

In addition to weekly lawn cutting, we've had Anthony perform additional jobs and were very pleased with each one. One job in particular is appreciated each and every day when leaving or entering our home. Anthony spread River Rock stones in the flower beds all around our home and in every tree bed throughout the lawn. It looks fantastic and feel it has added value to our property. I would highly recommend A & S Lawn and Landscape Solutions.

I strongly recommend Chris Taylor and his team! I hired this company to work on some ground leveling around my property. They arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. They had the correct equipment for the task at hand and when they arrived they got right to work. I felt at ease with the work they were doing. Chris provided excellent recommendations on how to improve and care for the grounds. I wouldn't hesitate contacting this company if I would need them again. Excellent work and great professionals. Bob did a complete landscaping job for our new home in Port Charlotte, FL. The job entailed trees, shrubs, curbing and about 100' of raised planter wall. Everything was done well and is growing fine. One exception at this time is a palm that needs to be replaced, which Bob has agreed to do.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to trim a tree?

The national price range for tree trimming is $270-$450. Tree trimming is often done by a professional arborist who is trained to safely trim and prune trees for both the health of the tree and the safety of the residents and their property. Trying to do your own tree trimming is not advisable unless you have the proper know-how. Tree trimming companies may charge an hourly rate for their services. The hourly rate may be higher or lower for different trees to reflect the relative safety measures, skill, equipment or people power needed to handle the job. For this reason, most tree services provide free estimates.

One example of an hourly rate for professional tree trimming services is $150 per hour. Costs may be under $100 or could be higher than $300 per hour, depending on variables such as proximity to buildings, health of the tree, height and diameter of the tree, and type of tree trimming desired. Geography and regional cost of living and regional costs to do business will also play a role in your tree removal costs.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?

Once you have a tree cut down, you’ll probably want to remove the tree stump as well. You may want the stump removed for aesthetics, the tree stump could be diseased, you might want to prevent regrowth, or you may find the roots are causing problems and need to be removed. Tree removal costs don’t always include the cost to grind out or dig out a tree stump after the tree has been felled and the trunk removed. The national average cost for stump removal ranges from $150 to $200. There are two main methods for dealing with tree stumps. In grinding, pros use a chipping machine to grind away the above-level tree stump until it sits just below the soil surface. Tree stump removal entails lifting the entire root ball of a tree out of the soil. Removing the stump will leave a hole in the ground and also take more time, labor and money than stump grinding. Here are some examples of average tree stump removal costs:

    • Stump grinding: $2-$4 per inch.
    • Tree stump removal: average of $60-$350.

The final price will depend on the stump’s size, condition, location and condition of the soil around it.

How much does it cost to remove a fallen tree?

If you need to have a tree cut down, have you planned what will happen next? Arborists often charge an additional fee to quarter and remove the fallen tree from your property, so anticipate this as part of your tree removal costs. You can elect to have the wood cut for use in your fireplace, or you may prefer to have it hauled away completely.

Tree removal costs may vary based on the height and the width of the felled tree. Size affects the labor required for removal, which will be reflected in the cost. For example, a tree service company may charge an additional $100-$120 to haul away the pieces of a felled tree. The service may cost as little as $75 in some regions and more than $150 in others. Regional labor rates, the cost of living and the cost to do business in your area will be reflected in your tree removal cost.

How much does it cost to cut a tree down?

When you’re ready to have a tree on your property come down, it’s time to call an arborist. The national average price range for tree-trimming costs is $270-$450. Tree removal costs can vary based on the height, diameter, location and health of the tree, and on whether you want to remove the stump. Height plays a major role in tree removal costs. Small trees, no more than 30 feet tall, are usually thinner in diameter and easier and safer for an arborist to manage. Removal of a small tree can cost anywhere from under $150 to over $450. Removal of medium-height trees, from 30 feet to 60 feet tall, could cost anywhere between $150 and $850 or more. Tall trees, typically 60 feet to 80 feet tall, may start at $500 or cost more than $1,000 to cut down. As the height and diameter increase, so does the cost.

Location is critical, too. Removing a tree in an open space is quicker and presents fewer obstacles than removing a tree that is growing flush to your house. Arborists can assess your tree and provide you with quotes based on the variables involved. For example, removing a medium-size hackberry tree that was growing too close to a home — the roots were damaging the home’s foundation — cost $1,500. This price included rope-down, house protection, tree quartering and stacking, and stump removal.

How much does it cost to cut down a massive tree?

If you have to remove a big, beautiful tree from your property, you’ll definitely need an arborist. Cutting down a massive tree without the proper tools or training can lead to major property damage or injury. A huge tree may need to be removed if it is diseased or dying and poses a safety risk, has suffered a blow from a storm and isn’t safe, or is growing into your home, your home’s foundation, your septic system, or your power lines. Removal costs for such large trees will depend on the tree’s height, diameter, and relative safety and accessibility, as well as whether you also need the felled tree and stump removed. The bare minimum for removal of a tree over 75 or 80 feet would be $1,000. This may not include tree quartering and removal or stump grinding. Stump grinding ranges on average from $2 to $4 per inch of the stump’s diameter. There is no set price as each situation is unique, so it’s always best to have an arborist give you a quote and detail exactly which services are included in the price.
