Between growing up in a military family, my own time in the military, and my career in federal law enforcement, I have moved a lot in my life. Tammie, due to international business assignments, and transfers, has moved even more. In our experience, packing and moving a family household is a daunting, frustrating experience at best ... imagine moving a 3500 square foot household, plus everything we had in two storage units and a 40 x 60 garage in Naples, FL, to a 9000 square foot house in Kentucky. Simply stated, our experience with Southern Cross Moving was as good as it gets. More specifically, in our case, I had to be at our home in Kentucky and leave the pack and move issues to Tammie to deal with which, quite frankly, was a situation I was not comfortable with. After researching it, and contacting various movers, Tammie selected Southern Cross. She dealt with Greg Geffe's business partner, Brian Jones. Our move posed potential complications because people in their fifties, with six children, tend to have a lot of accumulated personal affects that they hold dear. That which is lost, or broken, cannot be replaced. Further, we have a lot of big, heavy furniture ... an industrial version of the Universal Gym, a wrought iron king size bed, a 14 foot wide, 8 foot high entertainment center, a truly enormous, L shaped executive desk, a baby grand piano, etc. We have never had a move without casualties, and we did have a couple, which were promptly brought to our attention by the movers. A desk drawer had a minor scuff mark, a hinge in a small piece broke and two mason jars out of about 500 (that we packed) broke. For their part, Southern Cross apparently touched up the minor scuff (since I cannot find it), they offered to run to the hardware store and replace the hinge, and they washed the other mason jars of soup that got messy ... which was clearly not their responsibility. My principle concern was the assembly of the Universal Gym ... if you've ever seen one of those monsters, you can imagine. It took a while, but they took their time and assembled it perfectly. It did not occur to me to be concerned about the executive desk which had been originally located immediately behind a set of double doors. Even in sections, there was no way to get it through a single door, let alone get it up stairs ... the pieces were much heavier than our piano. They took it apart, and re assembled it upstairs in my office which, without seeing this monster, you probably cannot visualize. It was quite a job, and I'm not sure that it was legitimately their problem but Brian's only comment was, "I want to put this desk where you want it." They did. In the end, the whole thing took a couple of days longer than any of us anticipated, but with good reason. Tammie and I insisted that Brian and Tyler stay with us rather than have them incur expenses related to hotels and food (which would have been theirs to absorb). I've carried a badge and gun most of my adult life - trust me when I tell you that I don't invite just anyone to move in with my family. This should be the last move of our lives, but if we had to move again, there is no way we would want to undertake it with anyone else. Bill & Tammie
The staff they sent , Quentin and James went above and beyond. Moving is hard work and my wife and i cannot do it anymore. These guys were friendly but their goal was to get the job done. They strengthened table legs, dropped off donations and liked our dogs. I would recommend them to anyone. Great job.
What a great experience! They came at the scheduled time as promised, for the free in home estimate. The estimate was great very reasonable. Then they showed up on move day right on time and went straight to work. I had a lot of heavy Furniture, the guys did a great job moving and not one thing was broken. They put my furniture back together and cared for it like it was their own. I would use them every single time I move. It was a great job. I had all kinds of fears about moving, not one of them came true today. Thx to Jeff, Derek & Cailin for great work. Natalie
They were on time, and got everything loaded and unloaded quickly despite the heat and stairs. Unlike several of their competitors there were no extra fees for going upstairs or added fuel charges, just the hourly rate which was also lower than anyone else's. I would definitely use them again.
I called around looking for a pool table moving company that was licensed and insured and to my surprise "The Pool Table Doctor" was the only one that provided proof of it. This is a real legitimate company with great customer service and the techs that moved it were very knowledgeable and did a awesome job. I will recommend The Pool Table Doctor to my friends!
The drivers showed up exactly on time. They gave great care to my home and the moved items. They had to deal with odd shaped VERY heavy table, but were delightful and professional. I highly recommend this company
Top quality work done by Sunshine State Moving. I called their experts and told them I just had two days for a very urgent and very important moving job. They reached the site no later than two hours and did whole the project planning at the site sitting with me. At that time I thought that they are probably planning it too ideally and won't be able to come up with this practically. But they did as they sketched on paper. They are real professionals!
Public Movers was honest with me throughout my move and that's what I appreciated the most. I spoke with them and they gave me a lot of advice on moving, whether I was using them or not. After they initially took my inventory I added another bed, tv, and dresser. Of course, I would need to pay more than my initial quote as I had additional things and they told me how much extra it would be. The move was from Indiana to California and they were very prompt, meeting the times I needed. The move went great, and they told me the truth on the price, my favorite thing about the move.
they came the next day, rate were reasonable, on time, good guys showed up and took care of moving. Wish they would have lifted the some of the furniture versus dragging at times (have wood floors) and they could have wrapped a few pieces before moving them. Overall a few dings & the scuffs of the floor came of with a little polish. No big deal. I am actually going to call them to move the stuff in my garage into a POD.
Very nice guys. I would have hoped it would be a little faster but they definitely took great care with my stuff and everything was handled great. If it was more like a moving machine, constant in and out, I would have given 5 stars but I would use again and recommend. One idea for opportunity, when moving into the second location, folding up the blankets and putting back the mover's supplies could be done at the end instead of throughout the process since customers are paying as the time goes by.
Guys did a good job for me. Office gave me an hourly quote but the estimate that was provided over the phone was accurate. I have moved many times and know the ins and outs. This company is one that I would use again.
