Introduction: I was not born a singer. As a kid my voice was thin and breathy, and I lacked the confidence and tools to try to change it. I didn’t know then that all it would take was the athlete mentality and a small dose of self-belief to become the singer I wanted to be. And no, when I say athlete mentality, I don't mean you have to do pushups. I mean, you need a workout routine that strengthens muscles and develops motor skills. That's why all of my students have online access to select workouts from the Singer-Athlete workout series (a collection of exercises I developed while whipping my own voice into shape). You don’t have to be born with it. You can make it happen. You can successfully pursue your love of singing and music just like I did. Both I and my son studied with Judy. I participated in adult Rock Band Boot camp, keyboard lessons and vocal lessons. I've been playing trombone for 45 years, but some of the most fun was Rock Band Boot Camp. Judy figured out how to integrate a group of adults with all their hangups and odd instrument combinations to make a fun exciting and meaningful musical experience. I branched out into keyboard and Judy worked her magic with that as well. When I found out she was leaving, I thought, I may never have someone who will help me sing in public again. She got me over the hump and on the stage. I have never had so much fun. For a few minutes I was a rock star. With my 8 year old son she did some keyboard, but when she started working with him singing! We never knew what an energetic performer he was! It was an experience he will draw on for the rest of his life. Judy will teach you music, but more importantly, she'll teach you that there is so much in you waiting to come out.

Judy has a practical nuts-and-bolts approach to vocal production combined with a sharp eye for seeing what can help in the moment for the singer. Great ear for the songs. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I sell lessons in packages, so the more purchased at one time, the less the per-lesson cost. I also request that singing students become monthly members to access the Singer-Athlete library of vocal exercises. These exercise playlists make practicing super easy, and help students who need to miss a week or two of sessions continue a solid practice routine.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do free online test sessions so the student can test out their equipment and witness the online experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Music in Composition. I have performed as a soloist and in local bands as a keyboardist and singer for nearly two decades, and have been teaching music theory, keyboard skills and voice lessons for 15+ years.
