Tiara did a fantastic job! She did a great job with makeup for my trial and for my bridal makeup/4 bridesmaids makeup as well. I wish I lived in Tampa area as I would hire her again in a heartbeat. She is skilled, reasonably priced and fun to be around! She was even able to help fix my maid of honor's hair on the day of (done by another hair stylist at a salon). I am forever greatful that she had her hair styling products with her that day:) Thanks Tiara!

I couldn't have asked for a better makeup artist for my wedding!! Her personality is absolutely amazing as well!! Affordable and extremely professional. I had booked appointments with a different artist for me, my mom, and my bridal party and when that artist cancelled 5 days before my wedding, I was freaking out. Lillian Rose Beauty came to our rescue with no hesitation. I highly recommend!! ❤️

Working with Tina was such a wonderful experience. She did my makeup for my July wedding in Sarasota Florida and I am so glad that I chose her! I had a trial run with Tina a week before my wedding and she made me feel so comfortable. She listened to what I wanted and was so much fun to chat with during the entire process. If there were things I didn't particularly like or wanted changed, she had no problem doing so and made it clear that she wasn't happy unless I was happy. Within a few minutes any concerns I had were fixed or adjusted to how I liked it. On the day of my wedding she was on time, professional, and did a fantastic job. I had an outdoor ceremony in July, and she did the airbrush makeup on my face. It never sweat off and looked wonderful in person and in photographs. I am a person who does wear makeup everyday and have been a classical performer for 15 years with stage makeup experience, so I am very particular about my makeup and rarely trust others to do it. I truly felt so beautiful and never once worried about how my makeup looked from the early morning photos in to the evening. I would highly recommend Tina to anyone needing bridal makeup. Not only does she do a beautiful job but she is a sweet and beautiful person!

Christine is everythinggggg and more! She styled me and my cousin for a very formal wedding in San Diego. We really wanted to dress to impress and we were having no luck finding dresses on our own. Christine did a body assessment and a shopping trip. She nailed it! She even picked out our accessories and shoes. She is a makeup artist too I'm so she gave instructions for our makeup artist and stylist to complete our look. I added a picture because words can't describe how good we felt!

I was wedded to my husband on Saturday, February 6, 2016. I had tried to book three companies for the job prior to finding the Macho Sisters and they either stood me up or could not provide the level of professionalism I was looking for. Thankfully, I found the Macho Sisters who were willing to take my wedding literally five days before. They were more than professional and slayed my entire bridal party in a phenomenal way. As a chocolate bride, I have always been skeptical about trusting makeup artists, but Madelyn's "Maddie" work on my face removed my fears. Julie also did a wonderful job on my sister who is very fair skin. Julie is actually responsible for giving my sister her very first professional makeup session. She is now in love with the idea of getting professionally made up. Thank you so much! These sisters came last minute and saved my wedding day. You will not go wrong if you book them. ~The Reverend Jessica James

Hiring Donna to do my and my entire bridal party's makeup for my wedding was probably the best decision that I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. It probably sounds terrible, but I honestly couldn't stop looking at myself in every mirror that I passed by the entire day. I can honestly say that I have never felt more beautiful in my life. You are an amazingly talented makeup artist, Donna! Jennifer Haines-Barlow

JJ has one of many, MANY makeup and hair artists I have worked with. But one of few in execution, speed, and kindness. She was so efficient. Gentle. And friendly. One of the VERY FEW who can get volume out of my babyfine hair ♡ book her for sure!

Dee is such a talented makeup artist. As a HUGE makeup enthusiast I'm always hesitant to get my makeup done by someone else. I was surely not disappointed. She explained every step and rational for product choice and expertly executed my birthday look. I received compliments all night long. Her artistry ranges from natural "no makeup" looks to full on red carpet glam and for my birthday I got a look right in the middle. What I can certainly appreciate is her cleanliness. No one wants there makeup done with dirty brushes and germs everywhere. I will definitely and without a doubt book Dee again for my next event.

Amber did my makeup for a boudoir photo shoot, and it turned out amazing. I had a trial run before the actual day to make sure we were on the same page (which we were; she totally got what I wanted). The day of, she was also super helpful with not just the makeup but the shoot itself. I highly recommend her services!

Candace did makeup for myself and my bridal party for my wedding in 2014. She was professional, engaging, and very outgoing. She listened to the ideas I had for what I wanted for my makeup looks and she combined them with her knowledge of the latest trends and techniques to give me a truly flawless look on my special day. She went above and beyond her job as makeup artist and helped me as I was getting dressed as well. I got so many compliments on makeup that day, and of course I referred them to Candace!

How long does a henna tattoo stay on?

Typically a henna tattoo stays on anywhere from one to three weeks. Henna artists work with henna paste, also called mehndi, which dyes the skin for a short period of time. An important part of Indian culture, the use of henna has become increasingly popular in the United States, with henna artists providing henna tattoos for weddings, as event entertainment and for other special events. Henna artists typically apply their designs to the palms and backs of the hands, the wrists, up to the elbows, and from the feet up to the knees. To preserve the rich color of your henna tattoo and help it set, avoid water as much as possible within the first 24 hours of application. The color will be richest during the first week. Brides may want to have their henna tattoos applied one or two days before the wedding for optimal results.

How much do wedding makeup artists cost?

A wedding means love, celebration and tons of wedding photos. Professional wedding makeup artists have you looking your best on your big day and forever after in your wedding photos. The national average cost for a wedding makeup artist is $70-$100, although this price can increase based on your location, the extent of the makeup services and the reputation of the makeup artist. Most wedding makeup artists offer discounts to brides who book group services for their maids, mothers and flower girls at the same time. Wedding makeup artists who also do wedding hair usually offer package rates for hair and makeup combos. Here are some examples of average wedding makeup pricing:

      • Bridal makeup: $85-$125. Pricing often includes full face, eyes, lips, brows and false eyelashes. Airbrush makeup may be an additional $20 or more.
      • Bridal hair and makeup: $150-$200.
      • Bridesmaid and bridal party makeup: $50-$100 per person.
      • Bridesmaid hair and makeup: $100-$150.
      • Flower girl makeup: $25-$35.
      • Trial sessions: $60-$120, depending on the makeup artist. Some charge their full rate and others charge a partial rate for trial makeup services.
      • Hourly rates to stay on and keep makeup touched up throughout reception: $35-$75 per hour.
      • Travel fees: 50 cents to $1 per additional mile beyond a set radius — such as 50 miles.

Do I need a makeup artist for my wedding?

There are no rules around your wedding day, and that means it’s your choice whether to have a wedding makeup artist. If you’re on the fence about hiring a wedding makeup artist, consider the pros and cons. Some women decide against a wedding makeup artist to save money. The national average cost for a wedding makeup artist is $70-$100, which is an expense some women prefer to do without. Other women just don’t love wearing makeup. Some brides have friends or family members who are talented makeup artists willing to provide their services. If you choose not to have a wedding makeup artist, be sure to do at least two trial runs of your makeup look well before the wedding day to avoid any morning-of panic.

On the other hand, a wedding makeup artist can make the bride feel pampered and confident, giving her a flawless, fabulous look for the ceremony and reception and in wedding photos. For brides who are uncomfortable with heavy makeup, many wedding makeup artists usually excel at the natural look. Many brides consider wedding makeup part of the ritual and tradition of the ceremony, a shared experience with the entire bridal party. Ultimately your choice of whether to hire a wedding makeup artist should be based on what will make you feel most confident and happy.

How do you choose the right makeup artist for your wedding?

A wedding makeup artist can ensure a flawless look on your big day. Finding the perfect person isn’t all about price, though. Here are tips for choosing the right makeup artist for your wedding:

      • Research before reaching out. Wedding makeup artists should have an online presence with portfolios of their work. Find someone with an aesthetic you love.
      • Read reviews. You want a wedding makeup artist who’ll be on time, do beautiful work, and add a positive vibe to your day. Pay attention if previous clients report bad experiences with a makeup artist.
      • Consider skin tones. If your bridal party has a range of skin tones, make sure your wedding makeup artist and assistants are experienced and talented working with everyone.
      • Is your top pick available on your date? If so, put down a deposit to secure their services.
      • Confirm rates and payment. Clearly discuss prices and payment plans, and sign a detailed contract so there are no surprises on your wedding day.

What is the meaning behind henna tattoos?

Henna tattoos, as they are called in the United States, have a long tradition in Indian, African and Middle Eastern cultures. For centuries, the leaves of dried henna plants have been ground into a fine paste to be used as a temporary and nontoxic skin dye. This form of body decoration has been used in celebrations, weddings and ceremonial rites of passage in many cultures. Often in Hindu weddings, henna artists decorate the hands and feet of the bride (and at times the groom) with intricate designs. In some Muslim traditions, henna artists paint women with henna designs as they are in their final stages of pregnancy. In the United States, popular culture has adopted this beautiful body art and henna artists provide brides (and sometimes grooms) with temporary henna tattoos. Henna artists are also a popular choice for entertainment at corporate events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties and festivals. Henna artists may charge anywhere from $10 to $300 per hour.
