He makes learning jazz piano and music theory really easeful, tailors his lessons to what you’re interested in (instead of a rote set of exercises) and managed to always find me exactly what I was interested in doing even if it was esoteric, and was really encouraging and positive. My goal was to get a thorough grounding in music theory and learn how to arrange piano for my own songs, and I was amazed how easily it came with his instruction after years of wandering through pop piano on my own. I’ve referred several musician friends his way. Could not recommend more."See more

More than just a brilliant, talented musician and teacher, Ron always finds the perfect window to expand my understanding... of playing, of theory, of jazz and music history, and beyond. Ron's had a life of worldwide musical adventure, he's intelligent, and his knowledge is encyclopedic. and he always finds more new ways to share that knowledge. Ron is also incredibly generous and thoughtful... he's repeatedly found opportunities to connect our lessons to what my 13yo son is learning on trumpet, which has created some truly treasured moments.
