Perry Eisman says, "In general, Im not an easy person to please. And, for the most part, companies that Ive done business with in South Florida have been somewhat disappointing. This company is quite the exception. From beginning to end, this company was exemplary in every way. I hired them to repaint my kitchen cabinets. Kris and Cathy (the husband and wife team) are the owners. From my very first conversation with Kris, I knew this was going to be a pleasant experience. He was professional, informative, patient, thorough and caring. He and Cathy showed up together to review the project and come up with a proposal. They were punctual for our meeting and a pleasure to work with. The proposal arrived promptly and was very fair. When the crew came to remove the existing doors, Kris showed up again to make sure everything went smoothly. The prep work was impeccable. A few days later the doors were ready. This time both Kris and Cathy came to make sure I was happy with the results. Oh, was I! The workmanship was immaculate. Im thrilled with the new paint job. And, btw, they came bearing a gift of miniature Bundt cakes....who does that!!!I cant recommend them more highly. Thanks for just about the best experience Ive had with any company here in Florida!"See more

Greg G. says, "This was a difficult job: replacing a rusted and decaying steel column that held up our lanai. Michael and his team visited our house several times to try to find a way to do this job efficiently and economically. Another contractor visited our home and walked away from this potential job. The weeks dragged on with Building and Management, but whenever I checked in with Michael he reassured me that we weren't forgotten and he was trying to figure out a solution -- a 4X4 column of treated wood? another steel column? Ultimately, his crew settled on steel, but then they had trouble finding a column. Finally, they came and worked two full days to finish the job, including painting the column white to match the strips holding our automated screens. It looks great and I have only positive thoughts for Michael and his crew. Not anybody could do this job."See more

  • Approximate cost to repair a 5-foot crack in a wall: $125 (labor $75 and materials $50).

What tools do you need to repair drywall?

To repair drywall, you need up to several tools and materials. For example, you may need a drill to insert drywall screws and boreholes. A drywall saw or utility knife is perfect for cutting and shaping drywall, and don’t forget your tape measure and pencil. Drywall and taping knives are also essential.

For materials, you’ll likely need construction adhesive, drywall tape, drywall screws, masking tape and joint compound.

If you don’t have these tools — and you don’t want to spend money on them — contact a drywall repair professional instead of doing it yourself.

How do I find a good drywall contractor?

The best way to find a good drywall contractor is by searching for the top-rated contractors near you on Thumbtack. View their ratings, and read their reviews to see how they did on past drywall projects. Pay attention to the photos uploaded by the customers and contractors, so you can analyze their quality of work.

After you found a few contractors you like, ask them for price quotes. For more tips on how to hire contractors, read our in-depth guide.

Who do I hire to install or repair drywall?

A general contractor, handyman or a drywall contractor (or company) can usually install and repair drywall. It’s recommended that you call one of these types of pros when your drywall needs to be repaired, such as after a plumber or electrician has completed their work.

Look up local pros online and compare their profiles, paying extra attention to their ratings, reviews, experience and list of services. Contact three to five pros to get cost estimates for your project.

Do drywall contractors need a license?

Pros may need to obtain a license to fix and install drywall. It’s always worth checking with your local government about whether a drywall company or contractor has to be licensed before they work on your project.

Do drywall contractors do insulation?

A drywall contractor focuses on drywall. If you want to install insulation (or upgrade your existing installation), you should hire an insulation contractor. It's possible that your drywall contractor may be able to offer basic insulation services, but for more advanced insulation installation (such as spray foam), go with a professional who specializes in this.
