He did an excellent job of assembling the furniture for me and also removed all the packing when he finished. Very pleasant man and stayed focused on the job he was hired to do.
Very pleased. Steve responded quickly and professionally. He explained every step, did more than we had agreed upon in advance and left me with a beautiful table and other pieces. He also made wonderful suggestions as to how to maintain the finish on my wooden furniture. I highly recommend him and plan to contact him again as the need arises.
When I first called John and set up an appointment, he was prompt, happy, excited, very responsive, very respectful, and seemed very reliable. We discussed Many ideas, he had very intelligent input, and we made plans to meet again...as I had agreed to hire him. The project was an unusual request ; a Fancy Rabbit Retreat. I already had a Very nice piece of furniture that we agreed to use. Upon his return, we discussed ideas, and materials, and Everything else. The "Rabbit Retreat" is Unbelievable! Way More than I had expected! He and a friend were prompt, worked well, listened to "my" request, and was a Very good experience! All in all...John's workmanship is ( I would say ) reliable and professional. I would not hesitate to hire him for future projects . Note : because of two parts having to be ordered, the project is not complete. But, my rabbit is " living the life! I will be posting pictures on his Facebook. Thank you, Thumbtack for your recommendations!!!
The job required moving large pieces of furniture from a residence (which included a second story) to an apartment about five miles away (on the ground floor). This work could not have been accomplished by the customer, so the timely execution of the service was critical. The movers, Jeff and Frank, were courteous and efficient, working diligently for almost seven hours to finish the job -- including the disassembly and reassembly of some pieces of furniture. The project could have been better in the following respects: The job was scheduled well in advance (two months) and confirmed by the customer the preceding day -- however the 9:00 a.m. start time came and went as the customer discovered that the management of the operation had failed to secure a rented truck at the correct time. This required the start time to begin as late as 1:30 p.m. Thus, the work of moving items had to proceed during the summer afternoon Florida thunderstorms -- a problem that could have been avoided had the job been allowed to begin earlier. To the credit of the movers, they were patient and looked to the customer for cues regarding their willingness to proceed. Also, it was fortunate that the customer had the necessary tools to perform some of the disassembly work -- the movers managed to secure a few tools, but this logistical detail could have been better coordinated. In summary, the quality of work was excellent and the movers performed a difficult task with patience and professionalism. However, I will have to report that -- if a timetable is important to such a job in the future -- I will have to recommend a prospective customer to be willing to accept some flexibility in working with this service.
I base my reviews based on the results of the job. Nick leaves no mess behind when he is finished and the job is exactly the way we agreed to have it done. His prices are fair for the quality of work he provides. Nick makes suggestions as to how a room could look better if certain things were added or subtracted as needed, sort of a different perspective. when a contractor is hired, I have to live with the end result of his labors....Because of this I will hire Nick K. back to continue painting in my house as my wife and I decide on what changes we want to make in the future
I recently had the need for a furniture repair person to paint a treasured chair and cane a new seat for it. I am delighted that I met Bob Tangeman on this site. He could perform all of the work I desired for a favorite rocking chair. When I met him, I was struck by his very friendly yet professional attitude. it was very clear that he enjoys the work that he does. His estimate was reasonable. the finished work on the rocking chair is beautiful. I could not be any happier with it. I will recommend Bob to everyone I know that is seeking furniture repair. I am happy that I found Thumbtack, and that the site helped me find the service that I required. Excellent, all the way around. thank you. - ellen
We had two old wooden end tables that we were ready to replace. Before we did, a friend suggested that we go to Dave and have them refurbished. We tried it out and he did not disappoint. When we get compliments on them from visitors, I make it a point to show them the "before" and "after" photos, and it shocks them every time. We will definitely be coming back to Moonlite Hospitality for our next refurbishing project!
My good dining room table suffered a 3"x 2" defect, as a result of a cardboard hanging air freshner being left on it for a day. When I picked the item up, it had secreted an oily substance that literally dissolved the finish off, right down to the bare wood. The varnish looked like a crater around an ugly hole. I contacted Mr. Adams to get his opinion as to what could be done. I was expecting him to recommend having the whole table top refinished. After coming to the house to access the damage, he began an on the spot repair. My husband and I were astonished to see the damage so cleverly repaired, one would have to know where to look to find it. He also repaired two other pieces of furniture that had wood damage. We highly recommend Mr. Adams for excellent service and workmanship. L.M.R. Of Oviedo
