- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Why Hire A Professional Pet Sitter? Pets are happier and experience less stress at home. Diet and exercise routines are uninterrupted. Travel trauma for both owner and pet is eliminated. Pet's exposure to illness is minimized. Untrained or unwilling friends/family/neighbors need not be called. In-home professional pet care provides added peace of mind. How will my pet react if we travel with them? Your pets age, health, behavior and socialization skills are all very important to consider before embarking on any vacation. You certainly wouldnt want to bring a young puppy that isnt housetrained or an older dog with health problems and an uneasy temperament. Most trained, socialized pets do well traveling, but it is always important to remember that traveling stress can take its toll on everyone, including your pets. What should I do before I hire a pet sitter? Speak to them over the phone or e-mail and as long as they offer what you and your pets need set up a consultation to meet them and interview them. Ask as many questions as you have, if they are professional they are use to everything. Some example questions are... How long have you been a pet sitter? How many pets do you watch in the time period you will be away? Is your insurance, bonding and license up to date? What services to you offer, and how much are your rates for those services? How will I know that my home and my pets are secure? You can request daily updates, with or without pictures. Phone Calls Text Messages Emails What does a free consultation include? A free consultation allows the pet sitter, the pet parents, and the pets to all meet. You review together what a day in life of your pet is like, and exactly how you want things done. There is paperwork so the pet sitter is fully informed about your pet. A consultation should take as long as needed for the pet parents to feel at ease and have had time to accomplish all that they wish to.
