When we discovered rotten wood siding on the exterior of our house we knew we needed to replace it asap. Since we had delayed painting the house, we decided to get a painting estimate too. Irvin came to our house promptly, climbed up a ladder, pointed out the boards needing replacement and then walked all around our house. He took photos of various locations where work was needed and explained each problem. He then sent us an estimate for just replacing and painting the siding and another that included painting the entire house and deck with copies of the photos he'd taken. I had pointed out a few additional boards needing replacement in the side yard and he said he had included those in the estimate. His estimate included a detailed plan of exactly what would be done and which materials he would use. He assured us he would cover all windows with plastic secured with tape. His quote was not the least expensive we received but his thoroughness, confidence in his ability to take care of everything and attention to detail impressed us. He told us he had worked for many years for a large company that contracted for just this type of work before starting his own business. He assured us he was insured and showed us his insurance certificate. He amended his quote and gave us a senior citizen discount when we asked. The job would take 7 to 14 days he said, depending on weather. Some days Irvin worked with three other men, sometimes two others, sometimes one and on the last half day, by himself. They worked long hours, except the last day when Irvin arrived at 10:30 a.m. and had us spot check the entire house for any touch up needed. He then spotted a few areas we had overlooked, did touch up work and then borrowed our glass cleaner and washed many of our lower windows. By 1:15 pm Irvin had completed everything on our final checklist. We walked around the house with him one last time so he could be assured we were satisfied. Thanks to good weather and hard work the entire job had taken just five and a half days! Thank you Irvin and crew.
