My fiancé and I thought we were being clever by “keeping it simple” and planning a cruise wedding—get on a boat, say “I do,” sail into the sunset. Easy, right? Well… word got out. Apparently, getting married on a cruise ship sounded like such a fun idea that friends and family from all over the country jumped on board—literally. What was meant to be a no-fuss event quickly turned into a full-blown, multi-state, floating destination wedding. And I was this close to jumping ship. Enter Sandra. Within hours of my SOS call, Sandra—our cruise concierge extraordinaire—came to the rescue. Not only did she know the ins and outs of our Ft. Lauderdale location, she somehow produced a beautiful, customized digital wedding guide for our guests, arranged a hotel block (with good pillows, no less), and became the point of contact for both our guests and the cruise line. Basically, she went from “concierge” to “wedding coordinator with magical powers” in record time. Thanks to her, I’ve gone from “mildly panicked cruise bride” to “calm, collected future Mrs.” with actual time to say Yes to the Dress—and maybe even enjoy a mimosa. Sandra, you’re the real MVP of this event.
