We had our first visit with Todd Friday afternoon. He was very good about telling me about the program we had signed up for. He explained the chemicals he was using, what Security Pest Control would do on a quarterly basis, and how they would gladly come back in between quarterly visits, if necessary. I am very pleased.

Not only did KBR Quality Pest Services respond almost instantly to our request for services, (at midnight) but he came out on Christmas Eve to help us. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly, he listened to what we were experiencing to formulate a course of action for us and not just a cookie-cutter approach that would be "typical" of a home in southwest Florida. Highly recommend this company for anything that you need in terms of pest control.

The Catseye Difference We’ve made it easy to choose Catseye to protect your family, home and business with our 7-point difference. 1. Free Inspection of Your Home or Business Developing the appropriate treatment plan for your pest problem isn’t going to happen over the phone, that’s why Catseye does a thorough and detailed inspection of your home or business, at no cost. Then we design your customized treatment solution. From foundation to roof line and basement to attic, we check every inch of the outside and inside of your home. We look for signs of pest activity like the shed wings of swarming termites, pest entry points (remember that hole the cable guy cut in the side of your house?) or conditions that make your home a pest paradise (softened wood from the leaky A/C unit is perfect for carpenter ants). 2. A Customized Treatment Plan Just as no two homes are the same, neither are Catseye’s treatment plans. Each treatment plan is completely customized to your home and the types of pest problems you are experiencing. Every treatment plan includes an integrated pest management approach (IPM). Integrated Pest Management Integrated Pest Management or IPM, is the most effective way of getting rid of pests, and it’s better for the environment! We use these four steps in our IPM approach: Inspection: We investigate every inch of your home for pest activity. Identification: We figure out not only WHAT kind of pest is in your home, but HOW and WHY the pests are getting inside. Treatment: From proactive structural repair with our Cat-Guard Exclusion Systems to monitoring programs and applying pest products, we use a variety of ways to fix your pest problems for good. Partnership: Between you as a homeowner and us as pest management professionals. We can work together to protect your family and keep your home pest-free. 3. Comprehensive, 45 Minute Service Visits or Longer At Catseye, we focus on the difference between a visit and a stop. Most pest control companies encourage their technicians to spend the shortest time possible at a stop, usually about 15 minutes, so they can fit in as many stops as possible in a day. Catseye believes in quality over quantity and we know rushing technicians means that mistakes can happen and you do not receive the service that you are paying for. We ensure that our Pest Management Professionals have enough time to get the job done right. Our average service visit is 45 minutes to one hour long. 4. Flexible Scheduling & Emergency Visits We know you’re busy — that’s why we will schedule your service visit at a time that best fits in your schedule. Pests can be unpredictable. If something happens between visits, one of our pest management technicians will be at your home within 24 hours. 5. Secure Online Account & Dedicated Customer Service Representative Each Catseye client receives an online account that can be accessed through our website. The online account makes it easy to check the date of your next service, view detailed notes from previous visits and make payments. Also, service reports will be regularly sent to your email. But it’s not just about the “fancy” technology, we know you want to have a real person to talk to when a pest problem is driving you crazy. That’s why every client will have their own dedicated customer service representative. 6. Catseye Service Scan Systems Give Peace of Mind We want to make sure you feel comfortable with the work being done in and around your house. Catseye’s Service Scan System allows you to see when and where our pest management technicians were in your home. When our technician arrives for your service visit, they scan a barcode we place at the door of your home, marking the time they entered. Each piece of pest equipment and all locations in the house that are being serviced are also scanned. You can log into your online account and see what time our technician came and left your home, what areas were inspected and treated, and whether any pest activity was found. 7. Money-Back Guarantee Our main goal is to make you happy by providing outstanding customer service and the best pest control programs in the industry. If you are on our Platinum Home Protection Program or Termite Plus Program and you feel our service did not meet your expectations, you will be refunded in full for any service issue that could not be corrected by our team.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
