FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My husband is a complete tech geek and constantly reads about the new cameras and technology that comes out...or is coming out. He makes sure that we always have the cutting edge equipment. I am the main editor and I do lots of research with looking online on Vimeo, mostly, at the best wedding films in the world. I study and learn the secrets of anything amazing. I choose the best aspects of what I study and use these different techniques and styles as my inspiration for my own work. I also research music that fits each couple the best. And finally, I often discover new ways to film and fun ways to edit on my own, that I see emulated afterward by other companies, which is a compliment!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out filming the news and when I moved to San Francisco I thought I would just work at a wedding video company (Thomas Hughes Films) until I got a news job. After only a day working there, I was amazed at how much fun it was to create incredible wedding videos and how much more I enjoyed it than filming and editing the news. When I moved back to Florida I started my own company, Platinum Digital Video...and the rest is history!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings (from 2 guests to 1000 guests) corporate promo videos and events.
