Rachel Hofer is a counselor, life coach, and a NASM certified personal trainer. She has helped clients with weight loss through food and exercise. As a professor, counselor, and life coach she also has helped people to find the right careers, success in their careers, balance in work and family life, and to increase personal and family wellness as a whole.
With the NASM fitness approach exercises and programs are created using the optimum performance training model, which can be used with any client. In our society many people are working in jobs that require sitting for long periods of time and over 40 hours a week. People need a program that begins with creating stability and balance in the body and progresses in strength and power training. Even at the highest levels of fitness this is important. Physical strength and body movement have always been fascinating to me. I remember doing cartwheels on pipes over ditches and biking in my neighborhood as a child. I have been a personal trainer for over a year now, but I have been teaching group exercise for five years and recreational gymnastics for over ten. I think a sometimes missed importance of exercise is found in managing the mental challenges and stress of life. It is important for health and mental health and this also affects our overall health. Changes in habits of exercise also involve changes in habits of mind. I have a very holistic approach. I've taught about every fitness class there is, and I temper everything I do with my training in yoga and also have a masters degree in Counseling Psychology and certifications in behavioral analysis and play therapy. Life Balance Fitness exists to help people gain work life balance from a holistic approach and using an optimum performance training model of fitness that takes into consideration our psychology and motivations.
I enjoy helping people to find and meet their goals. My background is in counseling and life coaching so this has always been a part of my mission. What is neat about the personal training also is that you can SEE results and you get a great endorphin rush!
