From the moment I put the request in on Thumbtack, Julian reached out to me within minutes. He was very courteous, and professional. We were able to schedule an appointment for him to come out and see the issues I had with my two running toilets within, a day or so. Once he came in, he was able to assess the multiple problems that I had not just with my two toilets, but with old valves as well. As an elderly, disabled woman recovering from surgery and using a walker, I trusted Julian to come to my home to assess a running toilet. I was expecting a $0 service call and a quote before any work began. Instead, without my approval or explanation, Julian completed the repair—replacing a flapper and flow valve in under 30 minutes—and then demanded $225. I was shocked and afraid, alone and physically unable to object or leave. He failed to explain the charge, did not provide a receipt, and promised to email one, which I never received. I later texted my concerns and received no response. I feel taken advantage of, overcharged, and deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I would not recommend Julian, especially to vulnerable individuals. This experience left me feeling powerless and exploited. I would never refer Rooter Express of Jax/Julian/Hana Laca to anyone for plumbing work/repairs.
