Introduction: We love to educate about how each component of a slider effects the operation of the door. By focusing on education rather than sales, we empower our community to make the best choice that suites their individual needs. That may or may not include us...but we hope it does :-) Beacon is filling a real need in the community. Everyday we see and feel appreciated for either the education we provide, the final outcome of the work we do, or both. Many put up with various problems a door may have for months or even years. So, while it sounds like a small gesture, when we see you smile as you open and close your doors with little effort, we can just feel the gratitude and that makes all our work very satisfying.

I am a Board Member at the Gulf Beach Resort and we have used Beacon Windows on five occasions in the last 12 months to repair slider doors on condo unit balconies. Nearly all of the repairs required extensive work on the concrete sills beneath the sliders in addition to the work on the sliders themselves. The work performed by Beacon Windows was beyond outstanding. They even videotaped the jobs so out of state owners had an opportunity to see the detailed repair work that was necessary. The work was meticulously done on each job. Their pricing was very reasonable and unlike so many other vendors in Florida they were responsive to our initial requests for proposals/estimates and never missed a day of scheduled work. They went above and beyond in every aspect of their performance and it's hard to imagine any other vendor could come close to their demonstrated expertise in doing the work they do. Beacon Windows is the best you'll find in identifying the problem you might be having with sliders, doors or windows in your home, condo or commercial building. They stand by their work, they have expertise in a what is a highly complex area and they get the job done using remarkable skill. We recently purchased a 50 yr. old condo on the beach that requires work, especially the 2 sets of sliding glass doors. Simply, the doors would not slide, close tightly, nor lock. Beacon Windows was recommended to us by the building manager as "highly qualified", based on their work for numerous other condo owners in the building. I spoke to Lizette, Beacon Owner, who detailed how her staff would initially evaluate the problem doors, then propose corrective action. Actually, she was very detailed about the work to be completed, and recommended a video detailing the removal and repair of doors like mine. Beacon completed a detailed evaluation, demonstrating the necessity to replace the ball-bearings, and weather stripping. I witnessed the complete removal of 4 sliding doors and 4 glass panels. Beacon's staff demonstrated their expertise in the removal and detailed repair of these windows and doors. I must tell you that they accomplished, in 1 day, exactly what they stated. Based on my current experience with Beacon, I recommend Beacon Windows to correct your problems with your doors/windows. My alternative was to totally replace both units at a cost of 14K, or allow Beacon to salvage what I had in the condo. Beacon Windows was great, doing what they promised.

Just completed work on three sliders. One had to be completely removed and reset in building. All new hardware, locks, rollers and weather stripping. All for less than half the cost of replacing the smallest slider. First rate service and first rate craftsmanship. I highly recommend you get a quote before you replace any slider.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are many different configurations of sliding glass doors. We have standard pricing, but it takes an understanding of what the door is comprised of to understand how to apply the pricing. If you would like a quote then call me and we can discuss your door in detail, after which, I can give an accurate pricing guide. We are very good about staying to our quoted pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients call, we discuss their door issues in detail, and then typically I quote the pricing over the phone. Unless there is water intrusion or collapsing header issues, which I need to see, most clients typical problems can be quoted after educating them on what we do for a door.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a glass and glazing specialty contractor's license for window and door installation which I keep current with 14 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
